No the Jaguar controller was a lot more comfortable and usable.

Well yeah 3 butons are really confusing, much more then the one button on the CX-40. The other buttons are very clear when you put the overlay on and lets face it very few games really used the telephone keypad that much...

The 5 people that voted for the model 1 joypad should probably seek good medical help, it's not too late!

I think the Jag pad is worse than the model 1 pad, myself. At least, my Jag's pad was awful. It's the only Jag I've ever spent any time with, so I'm prepared to be wrong. The d-pad and buttons really were atrocious, though.

I love the model 1 controller personally. It just feels better in my hands. I like the curved structure of it as opposed to the flat thin build of the model 2 controller.

Though the best Saturn controller ever is:

I refuse to play Radiant Silvergun with anything else.

Though oddly enough, I'll only play Game Tengoku and Blast Wind with a 3D controller. I'm weird.

Voted Model 2, but the Virtua Stick Pro was my preferred control method.

I really like the grips on the model 1, even the d-pad feels better than it looks, but the shoulder buttons just end it for me. Model 2 unless I'm going to play for a long period of time, then I use the 3d to better suit my large hands. For shooters, I refuse to play without the Virtua Stick :D

As for the Jag... i like the feel, the abc buttons (or should I say, cba) are spongy and have way too much throw to them. When I first picked one up a couple weeks ago, I literally lol'd IRL at the D-pad. "WHAT DIRECTION AM I PRESSING!? WTF!!!?" In the end, I oddly didn't have much trouble playing tempest 2000 or Zool2. Weird.

If the d-pad and shoulder buttons were better on model1 pad, I'd like it whole lot more...

Meh well model 1 for me, when i had a chance to play with model 2 it felt pretty uncomfortable, especially the dpad >.>, though i don't play much fighting games like street fighter etc Btw i really liked it with Nights, you just put your thumb in the centre and stucks there, helping to make some nice combos :B [though 3d pad is THE joystick for this game]

    no1 for design
    no2 for comfort
(i like both so thats why i won't vote on this one.)

I can't believe so many people voted Model 2. Model 1 in controller AND console design was vastly superior (trigger buttons aside).

Both the Model 2 system and controller feel and look cheap. While the Dpad is nice for fighters, it's lacking that "Saturn" look to it. I loved the Model 1 because it looked like it was almost round, like a planet. From a design standpoint, I think the first one works best in that regard, and is also highly unique, unlike the Model 2.

I donno, then again, I only really ever knew and loved the Saturn in Model 1 form. I have Model 2 controllers for Street Fighter Zero 3, but I certainly wouldn't ever touc a Model 2 controller or system for much anything else.

After giving the model1 controller a different D-pad and tweaking shoulder buttons, it has become my most used Saturn controller.
