as these are prety hard to get and pricy. is there a way to get a burned copy and would that work on na saturn?

 

Burned system disks wont work. Prototypes should work on a modified system though, assuming region and all that. If not, an emulator

 

did try them in a modded console but didnt work, but did with the #2 disc

wich kind of mod will work any idea ?

 

Many of the modchips dont seem to allow for different regions, @Bad_Ad84 feel free to correct me if Im wrong. So you would want a region free setup as well, or patching the actual disks after youve backed them up

 

That's true for all the modchips I know about. An Action-Replay enables Region-Free easily.

 

Thats what I thought. It certainly would stop prototypes from other regions from booting.

 

Saturn region protection and saturn cdr protection are separate. So you can't bypass the region check with a modchip.

(Suppose technically you could, but one doesn't exist that can patch region on the fly)

 

The saturn/dreamcast (basic built-in) region protection is very similar so I guess a modchip for the region could be done for saturn like it was for DC but there's no real point because of the AR that was quite popular IIUC. A ODE can also easily patch it for obvious reasons (rhea/phoebe does it I believe).

 

use SRP to set the image to match your console's region. some prototype would have up to 8 regions coded so it will run on any retail console provided the System Disc is used.

I set all my prototype/unreleased titles with JPN and 3rd party so I don't have to fiddle with the region switch and etc.

 

so set it on JAP region, and on 3th party ? no idea how i can do that.
