FWIW I have purchased two GDEMU's from his site at various points; if you subscribe to his blog you'll get notified when the pre-sales are going up. In fact there is one this weekend (2018/04/07) at 8am West Coast Time.

A few years ago this Saturn ODE would have been a day one purchase for me, but these days there are many other things I think I'll put my money towards. I am still interested to see this project come to fruition but I'm probably not in the market to purchase one.

I've seen it twice, both by chance. I mean I knew he was going to open them in the weekend, but beyond that, I woke up, checked the site, and it was open.

Is there any progress with the original unit? Or are Deunan's units the only ones for the forseeable future?

Do you think we can trust on it? I'm very curious to get one!

Some dude posted this on "The Dreamcast Junkyard" group on Facebook about the project mentioned above...

Perhaps he could explain why they say "Saturn Satiator" on the board? Other things about the site and project are dodgy, too, but this is probably the worst one.

Hopefully he can answer this one, as I hope it's not just a bootleg of a proto from Prof. Abrasive.

I had posted it and then I deleted, after the post was removed from his FB page. Something is very wrong on this project...

Yeah, something isn't right with this one.

He deleted his response to your question,so thank you for sending me a copy of that...

    Now it's gone:

He's seemingly trying to sell his product with screenshots of a WIP early version of the Satiator from 2016. You know, the original video we all saw.

Oh, and I know where he got the image he used in his post now...

    It comes from here: http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&topic=7452&forum=82#34892

TL;DR This stinks to high heaven.

Wow, that's... a bit weird. I could well believe that someone's doing a Rhea/Phoebe style emulator, but why would they then rip off a pic of my unit that would be instantly recognisable to... well, everybody?

I think it's a double case of lazyness, with deep dishonesty to boast.

In retrospect, I think I priced the Drag'n'Derp too low. The production costs in this sort of volume are of course not great, so what happened was I ended up squeezing the distributors way too hard to keep the retail price where I wanted it. Like, paying them half industry rates or less. That was pretty rude.
I'm also now way, way busier than I used to be with a kid and everything, so I might even have to pay someone to manage manufacturing. All in all I think it's going to be more expensive than I had hoped.

Of course, this increases the chance that people are going to shout at me for gouging. But as has also been said, I'm going to get shouted at a bit no matter what the price is...

Yep, people will complain. Can't help it :p

But this step will also improve your product.
If you have manufacturing covered by someone dedicated, it ensures you actually have product to sell to people.
It would be best to sort this out now, rather than after you announce / sell your first boards.
The PSX PSIO project is an example where production seriously hampered the product.
To this day, you still can't actually buy one. It's been "out" for many years now.

I would still buy this product. Hopefully it will be easier to obtain than the other option.
