Saturn prototype controller with unknown Japanese text

Daytona CCE should work.
I believe that every Sega game with a picture of the controller in the controller menu will show which is the controller conected.
Except the first Daytona, where you only have he wheel or the controller.

As I mentioned before....

 

There doesn't seem to be a controller menu on Daytona USA Championship Circuit edition. There is a controller menu on Mech Warrior 2 but the controller image on that game does not change when I change controllers.

 

I think the US version of Daytona CCE is like Sega Rally, a rush release. The Japanese version has far better controls, original music plus the remade rubbish and more game options. I'm not sure about the EU release. The Japanese version came out 2 months after the US release and also after the EU release. There was a 2nd release in the states called Daytona USA Championship Circuit Edition (NetLink Edition) which came out a year after the Japanese version. I don't know if this is the same as the Japanese game (also featured net link) or just the standard US release complete with bad controls but with net link thrown in. Logically I'd expect it to be the Japanese version.

 

Isn't the USA Netlink edition THE holy grail for the system? Several hundred dollars easy or am I thinking of something else?

 

I really couldn't say. I know nothing about the US Saturn scene. I didn't even know there was a US netlink version until yesterday.

Hehe...Well I won't find the Netlink edition anytime soon.
I'll need a more common game to find another game to test this controller.
