Sorry for causing so much grief with Quicktime, but I didn't really want to convert the videos from their original formats in case any minor details were lost in the process - besides, they've been compressed enough already!

P.S. I promised even more files, though sadly I've not been able to find much of worth just lately (but there are many more discs to search through, I must add). However, there were a few clips that may be of interest:

The original tech demo of Clockwork Knight (or "Knight" as it was still known back then), running on Silicon Graphics hardware and featured at the 1994 Winter Consumer Electronics Show. This footage comes directly from a lengthy US promotional video for the Saturn and clocks in at less than a second, but is - to my knowledge, at least - the only known media of the game in its preliminary stages. So far, the other two CS-developed titles previewed at the same event - "Soccer" (Victory Goal) and "Dragon" (Panzer Dragoon) can only be found as screenshots, though elements from the former's SGI showcase were included as part of the final version's intro sequence. Which parts were used is anyone's guess, though...

Taken from Sega Flash Vol. 4, here is the original tech demo of Last Bronx in its Model 2 arcade guise, featuring the AM departments' typical exercise of showing characters over a wireframe background. As somebody who isn't totally familiar with the coin-op (actually, I was first introduced to Last Bronx through its Saturn and PC conversions), I can't really tell for sure if there's anything significantly different from the final version, though it's good to see that Sega could afford to use direct-feed footage on their own official demo discs - just check out the video and you'll see what I mean!

I get about a second of footage on Knight.avi and it's only 104448 bytes. Is that supposed be so small? I tried to download it again, but same thing happends. The *.avi index doesn't appear to be broken.

Incredibly, the "Knight" clip really is just a second long - only 29 frames, in fact! Would it have been better off if I had made it into an animated .gif file? Probably, but I might never have got the frame rate correct so I just left it as a video.

P.S. There is definitely a lot more footage of this early prototype that could potentially still be out there, as I distinctly recall the same version being used for a phone-in game on a Saturday morning kids' television show here in the UK a few months before the Saturn was released. Of course, it might have been the imported final build, though I'm fairly certain it looked something like the video I've uploaded. If only somebody taped that show...

Of all the people I expected to have such a video, who else but Yakumo would come to the rescue? Please, send it our way!

Ehh? Don't know where you read that but it's not true at all. Geist Force was never released on any format .

I think he got nintedo's geist which is a fps for game cube mixed up with geist force. For the record they are two seprate unrelated games made by different people.

I don't really know much about Geist other than it's one of the few GameCube titles which doesn't work on 50Hz televisions, but the existence of an early Dreamcast version has definitely caught my attention... and yes, I can understand why it's so easy to confuse it with that other mythical cancelled game, Geist FORCE!

I don't think Geist ever had anything to do with Dreamcast, it was first announced for Gamecube back in 2003, as I recall. Might have missed some DC cancellation I suppose.

Was that rally clip the saturn homebrew you were talking about? For some reason i thought it was a leaked video of a test version of sega rally based on the med right text and such(plus it was orignaly suppose to be a model 1 gaem).

Sega Rally was originally planned for the Model 1 board? I've never heard of this before - does anybody have more information?

I can be the source of ten thousand similar pics, since the shot comes from Fighters Megamix. Just click here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tttP_m13nxc

You'll see that background in the first ten seconds of the video. Earlier you can see Akira in the exact same outfit. And Jeffry later on.
