The title says it all :)

A few other points to mention that are not mentioned in the video is that the early build has no voice chatter like the final or any mission briefing at all.

No idea. Mine is one an original Japanese demo disc from Captain Soft. I beleive it was the first demo disc for the Saturn.

aaah okay. I thought this was from a prototype cd, since it is earlier than the Wing Arms Demo (mihonban). But you mean the Super Saturn discs.

Those are indeed early but iirc Tech Saturn was even earlier.

I'm not sure. I just remember the publisher being Captain Soft due to the funny name.
I'm lucky enough to own every Saturn cover disc released in Japan so I get confused to what magazine they are from. You could be right, it's possibly from Super Saturn volume 1. I'll double check when I get home.

EDIT. Here's the disc that the Wing Arms demo is on. The magazine that the disc came from is Saturn Super.

In addition to the differences you noticed, I spotted that none of the planes in the early build had propellers on the select menu. Also, that music can be heard in the VHS that was cover mounted with the first issue of SSM, suggesting this footage was indeed sourced from a prototype and not just an incomplete PAL localisation based on the NTSC-J version, which had already been released by then. As for the final build using a system that removes textures on distant planes, I'm guessing this was a way of keeping the frame rate up, plus the two background layers do still occasionally lose synchronisation. Thanks for the great video!

Hey Yakumo, I wonder what happened to Segagaga-Domain? I still checked the site for information every now and then, but it appears that it's been taken offline recently? That's quite a shame, it was a really great database of brief reviews and scans.

yep, this is true about the planes having no propellers on the select screen and also the lighting is different. It's easy to tell on the blue plane as much more detail can be seen.
The sky and sea do loose synchronisation in the final too but nowhere near as bad as the early build. That really looses sync :)

I'm afraid it's long gone. The site was costing me too much to keep it going.
I still have all the data of course so it will return at some point in time in one form or another.

Have you considered uploading the last version of your site (or whatever else you may still have as well) onto the Internet Archive? I know you've done this for old episodes of Retro Core, so there is precedent... I loved reading through your comments on various Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast games I'll probably never get the opportunity to play myself!

No, I hadn't thought of that.
