SCART licensing

    What official channels, if any, is one supposed to go through to commercially make and sell SCART compliant devices? Assuming the standard is proprietary, it doesn't seem like anybody cares. I haven't heard of potential trouble for unauthorized use of SCART.

    I think you just buy/acquire the official standards document, stick to it (or don't... it seems to be more of a guideline/recommendation thing) and that's it.

    or be like belkin and just dont mention thimgs like HDMI anywher on the packaging... It's a "HDTV" cable lol

    but yeah I think SCART is commercially dead so no one will police it

    I'm pretty sure SCART is a free standard - it used to be mandatory in France, and that was at a time when it was still generally accepted that a mandatory standard should be free to implement.
