Is there one that exist? I got it in a lot of broken games. This ones cart connector was cracked off on one side. Resoldered all the wires for that side and it worked. Whilest putting it together and testing it, the other side also cracked as well. I guess the epoxy wasn't enough. So i tried soldering the other side from trace to trace, but it will not boot up again. So either there are cracks in the traces I can't see or im more rubbish at this than I thought.

So I'd like a shcematic since I can't follow the traces that go under the rom chips and want to solder directly to the pins. Thanks in advanced.

I'd imagine the PCB is identical to another game out there. What you're going to need to do is grab one of these identical carts and just the maskrom over, don't fuck with it trying to get this one to work it's shot.

Shame as it did work for a bit. I don't have the tools to remove rom chips right now either. Hey why I was just going to solder/epoxy

I've got some other carts that aren't working but I see no damage to the board and the pins are as clean as they will ever get. Any guess what that might be about?

You'd probably also need to transplant the CIC. A list (of sorts) of carts with the same PCB is here.

A schematic??? You need a new PCB.

Find a crap game with SRAM such as: Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr. or WCW/NWO Revenge or Wrestlemania 2000

Move the CIC and ROM chips from Zelda to the new board. If the donor board has two ROM chips (not likely on these), remove both.

I had found a list on sega-16 but can't find the threat again. I will do that if it comes to it, but I would like to save this one as it has a complete save.

    Seriously? That's your reason?

Just complete the game again, what good is a complete save file ever going to do you?

Yeah right, I would probably be spending my time building an SRAM reader than trying to swap mask ROMs.

LOL good luck putting a soldering iron on that thing and hope to keep the *SAVED* data intact.

Well for one, after I wired the back the save files were intact, and working just fine. The front then cracked afterward as well. I see no reason why the save wouldn't be intact.
And I'd like the complete one just cause? Do I need more reason. Completed saves are cool.

    Anyway.

@Leham: I was hoping you had pics without the maskrom on lol. I wanted to trace the traces that go under those chips. Thank you very much though.
On the right side of the front I can't tell if it has cracked or not, but I think it has. And high enough that taking off the solder guard on the traces doesn't work.

I guess I'll just swap them onto a new board, already bid on a cheap donor. play through the game again.

He meant that once you remove the SRAM chip or the battery the saves are gone, they stay there because of the battery feeding it voltage and once it's off the board they are erased.

Right I know, which is why I wanted to save the cart rather than move them all over. If it weren't for the save I'd have just done that already.

WAIT if you can get the cart to boot one last time maybe pop the saves onto a memcard ?

If not maybe you could send the cart to someone who does (They could also fix the cart and reload the save at the same time)

    What country are you in?

I actually do have a memory card.

I guess I can give soldering it all another go. Though I'm sure it's that there are cracks in the traces that I can't see around the right side of the front. I'll upload a better picture of the front when i can

Now im just spitballing ideas here but this may work..

If you cant get it to go..

When you get the new donor board swap the mask roms over but leave the battery and sram on the broken board..

Remove the battery and sram off the donor board and run some kanyr wire pin for pin, from the sram (still in the faulty pcb) to the points on the new PCB same with the battery.

Now fire up the game copy your save, turn the system off continue swapping the sram and battery back to the new PCB..

    Worth a shot i guess
