everdrive 64 will be supported with SDHC, so more than 2gb cards also will be supported.
when everdrive 64 project will be complete i will implement SDHC and fat32 for snes and sega by OS update

also everdrive64 use sdram instead of flash

Standard SD, easier to handle, easier to insert in the cart without having to unscrew the cart case everytime I need to do an OS update or insert roms.

I voted for standard SD for the ability to easily backup and restore save files from my PC.

However, would it be possible to add the solder footprint for micro SD slot to PCB as well? I dont think it would take up too much space, and people who really want to use micro SD can solder in micro SD slot and ignore the standard SD slot (Obviously dont use both slots at the same time)

Alternatively maybe they could build this micro SD to RS MMC adaptor?:-

standard sd would be nice as its no problem to work with on my mac , but with micro sd i woud have to buy and adapter , second if your good with a rotary tool you can make it look nice although i do have the bit to open up a n64 cart, doing so overtime may strip the screws and be disasterest , second why fix whats not broken , or try to improve in this case as it work fine .

so eager to see the out come of this ,. and my own everdrive 64

    SD FTW!!

The best part with SD is that you can have 2 or 3 fit the entire library of N64 and take it with you.

EDIT: Just saw it now that you will improve capacity of the SD cards.
So it will depend on how much memory it will hold.

The N64 No-intro set has 8GB, can a cartridge go that far with fat32 ?

If I remember correctly the main limitation of fat32 is no files above 4GB or at least that I remember.

fat32 have limitation on single file size (4gb), but not limited by disc size. so all n64 romset can be writen on single SD

+1 to SD. Much better I think, I really don't mind it sticking out the top as once the carts in the N64, it won't be coming out! :)

Well, I would change my vote.

There are MicroSDs with 16GB and that is more them enough for all the N64 games. So, if you can just add everygame and leave the shell intact that would be better.

Go MicroSD. They are only a couple of bucks more that SD and once a full romset is installed what need do you have to replace it?
