That's not very nice. He also posted it up on the NESDEV boards, and they're primarily English. Much like the QuickDEV16 (also German), you had to follow it closely to get in on it.

To be fair, the guy owes no one anything. He could not post it anywhere if he likes.

In the world no one needs to be nice to no one but the world would be a better place if everybody does it.

It's just a matter of logic, the site is named sd2snes.de. When he posted a "update" page about every progress he made with the sd2snes.

so LOGICALLY a big update like a 100 pieces to sell would be in front page news.

And logically it's his project to do what he sees as best, not where weretag thinks it should be posted.

True. But as I stated, selling this too "officially" was not an option for me then. This is Germany, try selling something electronics related and not being a large company at the same time. The amount of formality and regulations is prohibitive unless you have infinite time and energy. Oh, and money. :)

Remember that this has mostly been a hobby project up to this point, done entirely in my spare time.

Anyway, availability might become a non-issue soon. But I can't say too much about that just yet. ;)

This is great news! Will there also be a standard version like with the normal EverDrives, since Krikzz is making them?

    EDIT:

Just read, $200 for just the board, $280 for deluxe.

I'm not trying to pressure you, but do you have you given the SA-1 chip a look? No offence, but I'd only pay $200 for a flash cart if it played every good SNES game.

    Folks, I have a question -
The SD2SNES does have the potential to be the best cart for supporting the most custom chips. However as it stands right now, it seems to be matched feature by feature to the "invitesnes" http://ramfactory.com/products.php?64SZ-UF&osCsid=029mimuahi17timt03eh0afqq4

Both support the CX4 and DSP chips but the invite snes is just $65 and is in stock. Am I missing something here?

I don't see anything that says it supports DSP, only CX4. Please point it out though if I'm wrong. The sd2snes also supports much more than the INVITESNES, and is going to support even more. See here.

It also uses high quality parts. Pins are going to be gold plated (at least the prototypes were, I assume the ones being sold will also).

Speculation i've seen suggests that invitesnes isn't actually emulating CX4 properly and is just using response tables, someone cited the fact that they didnt show the full intro of one of the MMX games as evidence that they were trying to cover it up

The maker of invitesnes posted I think on NESDEV and it seems likely that the Cx4 is indeed emulated, not some sort of trick. To be fair the Cx4 has been understood well enough for awhile to do so.

It's quite difficult to order, you have to use WebMoney, and its $65 for 8MB, $71 for 16MB and the maximum supported ROM size doesn't allow for something like the Star Ocean hack to work (unless these stats are inaccurate):

The first availability are expected when? I hope to be one of the first to be able to buy the cartridge sd2snes.

The final price may be above the 120€, I heard it will be 200$.

    Well, interesting...
"Game Cart Special Chip Support: BSX, C4, DSP, SA1, SPC7110, Super FX (With Game Cart On Top) "
I'm curious if this really works.
@superufo: any proof this is really working?
