Hello i found this in a thrift store and saw is had "not for resale" and "for promotional use only" all over it so i thought i would take it home.

Now i,am curious if its worth something and if so what?

couldn,t find anything about it online except that a copy of halo in this same way has sold earlier on an local auction site here but i can,t see the price it went for!

    any help would be appriciated

Typically they were going for less, sometimes way less, than the retail version. Just the final copy of the game with a nasty label. I know some people here made a killing buying those instead of the retail version for pennies.

Nothing special to be honest unless it is either Tomb Raider/ Resident evil or Final fantasy promo disc then value is very high.

Best to hang on to it, certainly is more rare then the official release. Yeah it might have bugs compared to the final copy, but then again there might be some hidden stuff yet undiscovered. Interesting that promo copies especially if a hidden level or feature is discovered plays just fine on an unmodified console.

You totally wrong. You are talking about beta or alpha version. Promo version is exactly same as Retail version. Only reason promo version exist is given to journalists to review that game.

Yep, mainly for reviews, some like Burnout 3 didn't include the manual... These have slightly more value, but nothing dramatic. Got a sealed copy of Burnout 3 for $15~, retail go for $10~
