Secret of Mana Prototype

Hello everybody,

I have found Secret of Mana Prototype.
I can't guarantee that it is a US version, although I believe it is.
It came from the Electronic Gaming Monthly Magazine in the US.
Sadly, It's a corrupt prototype game
Perhaps like Lufia II prototype with Help we can repair it.
I don't have the game now but the next month I think.
Who have some informations on this prototype or EGM magazine scanned?

This proto come from a former EGM editor in 2009 who lives in Colorado.

nb. I would guess that not all EPROMs are damaged.

 

so it's an english proto? is so i guess there won't be much of interests because the game was localized in 30 days or so

might have some part prior nintendo censorship maybe?

I really want to see some EGM scans.

 

If it was Japanese, it would have said Seiken Densetsu 2 on it or something, not Secret of Mana.

You could try looking through some of 1993 to look for Secret of Mana articles. Some 1993 issues are missing, but I know that I have the November one myself somewhere.

Perhaps he had saved pictures of this prototype.

Who is D4s user? He had seen differences between final and proto.

I recognize some of the scans from EGM.
by the way i never finished Secret of Mana so I'm not much of help for spotting differences (I was just a little bit after getting Sprite in the team I think). Actually, at the time I played it my English was bad so I didn't pick up much from the story.

 

I have the review from the December 1993 issue of EGM.

I will upload it shortly.

I'm not sure how many times we've all reiterated that eprom windows need to be covered
