Tell us about them here. As for me, I decided to pick up a movie from the store the other day, and it turned out being better than I thought. Man on Fire. It's a movie about former CIA agent John Creasy being hired, by some rich family in Mexico City, to protect a little girl. When the girl gets kidnapped, Creasy does everything in his power to make sure the people responsible pay for what they have done. I liked this movie a lot. At first I thought it was going to be just another action movie, but it ended up being so much more. Unlike most action movies, it actually has a good story and good acting. Also, the music will probably blow you away. I loved it. Check it out if you haven't already seen it. Oh, and one more thing, the movie is kind of sad. Just a warning to those of you who cry during sad movies.
Hitchhikers Guide a few weeks back Reasonable. Not as good as the radio or books, and only slightly worse than the TV series, But since they're all a pretty high standard to live up to, its still alright. Storyline ends a bit too "hollywood" for my liking though Also, Spongebob Squarepants movie. Yes, I'm a sad shite. Good, Solid storyline(in spongebob terms), but best left to 10mins cartoons unfortunately
well, i decided to go see batman in theatre. I must first tell everyone here that i wasn't a batman fan at all, though i didn't hated it, big guys disgised in penguins, skinny guys in a tight green suit and plans to take down a city called gotam wasn't my cup of tea. but i heard from diferent sources that this one tried to go as far as they could from those 90's bad batman movies, while still being called a batman movie. i was cursious, i wanted to know if it was true, if they could revive the batman franchise and remove, at the same time that cheesy-ness that repulsed me all this past time. i picked a ticket and watched the whole movie. and i must say i was damn impressed by what they made. i don't care at all if the old fans of batman liked the way they changed the batman universe or not, i think it was needed. That cartoonish batman fighting penguins with long noses have disapeared. Even the niples of the batman suit, the top of the cheesy-ness imo (far worse than the batman suit in the old serie with the blue underwears that weren't ''under'' ) ! the new batman was made in a realistic maner, something that you could believe. the super heroe is more human along with the super bady. you just believe every minutes of the film, you're now amazed by things that you weren't in the other super-budget hollywood movies, since it could be belivable, unlike what you see in most movies that suffers from the hollywood sindrome. what i aslo liked is that there's not alot of special effects made with the help of computers, other than explosions, some drug effects and bats. this aslo help to create a believable breathing world. i'm so tired to see characters being replaced by unrealisticly moving 3d models, and i was really happy that this virus didn't invaded every movie productions by these days. everyting is explained, everything can be explained and everything fits right to create an imersive and entertaining movie at the point that you totally forget about those old movies, and that you hope this franchise will continue on it's new way, heading as far away as it could from the old one that incarnated cheesy-ness in my head. i wasn't a batman fan, but i must say i'm totally convinced by this new aproach. Batman really did a big step up in my esteem.
I haven't seen Batman yet but I hear it really redeems DC. If you want to see the best comic adaptation definately go see Sin City. That movie kicked ass but it isn't for everyone.
Just came back from seeing Batman. I will quote master SolidSharkey in my one sentence review of this film: "It kicks more ass than the asskicking robot sent from planet Asskick... to Kick Your Ass!"
I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It Mr. and Mrs. Blew. It went on and on...and was filled with awful awful, "we're married and we're spies" jokes. "Honey I could kill you." etc. Angelina Jolie is weird looking.
The last good movie I went to see was Star Wars: revenge of the Sith. I rarely watch movies, too. I liked the Phantom of the Opera (2004) movie as well.
Saw Batman today, damn good. Very high on asskicking, very low on cheeziness (like maybe one or two lines max) and Christian Bale definetly makes the best Batman, better than Keaton by far. I like the first two Batman movies more becasue I'm a Tim Burton fan than anything else. Batman Returns is a crazy, surreal nightmare world filled with wierd shit going on, but really it seems like the characters take a back seat to the production desgin and music. The 3rd and 4th Batman movies chew butthole to the point of embarrassment. So this one redeems the series and is worth seeing. What else.... haven't seen any other new movies lately. Actually I've been downloading Starwars fan films (theforce.net) Some of them are pretty good, in a "If these morons can make a movie why aren't I?" kind of way.
recently saw revenge of the sith as well and loved it, however i decided to rent the indie flick that i didnt get a chance to see in the theatre which was i hear huckabees, its a very intresting movie, but man can it be so damn confusing, but its worth a look if you want to check something intresting, i though it was pretty good, sideways was funny but was able to mix in drama very well, which is real rare for of a movie of its type. Was shaun of the dead any good, ive been meaning ot rent it and have heard good stuff about it.
hmmm well i saw SW episode III this friday and that one is in my opinion only worth 2 !/2 star out of five stars good effects, pretty scenery, ok music but bad acting and no i won´t see it again . But that is the only positive thing i can say. SilverBolt i think i am going to see Batman The Beginning too since if they do it right they make Batman Year One Proud since that Frank Miller material is the best material , so let us hope they don´t fuck it up with bad acting.
by the by, who made that psycho scarecrow in batman begings? Never saw that actor before, he looked cool.
batman rocked the house.. i really liked a darker batman with out neon coated backgrounds with fruity villians.
Thank god that's an opinion and not a fact ;-). Batman Begins was great. Plan on seeing War of the Worlds when that comes out.
