I'm looking for a certain pin/terminal/crimp-contact thing... It's from a Nintendo AV-cable and it looks like this: The whole thing is 20 mm long, 2 mm width and the part which is bent is 6mm long. I tried googling any kind of molex, T.E., leaf amp dummy terminal or crimp contact for edge connectors but no luck at all. If anybody out there has a clue where to get these please let me know. Thanks guys! For reference, here's the housing where these pins were located:
Already looks all over the major distributors for these pins and no one has anything like it, but I might be able to source these connectors soon with full set of pins. Still in early talks with a fabricator and waiting on a datasheet drawing but if it's all good I can provide these damn illusive sockets so we can make our own cables.
That would be pretty amazing. Yes, right now the only option to use the connector is pulling the pins from another one and frankenstein those into the other. But the connector is pretty cool, it allows a 6mm diameter cable to go through and it has a nintendo logo
On molex.com, search for the KK 396 Connector System. They have a section of crimp terminals. I'd provide a link, but I'm on my phone. The JAMMA harness uses the same type of connector. Not sure of the specs ...might be able to use that, if you can't find a supplier for KK 396 terminals. Edit (link): Crimp terminals
None of those pins you linked to look like these and they seem short too, maybe you can post a link directly to the one like pictured above. I have looked through Mouser and Digikey even Aliexpress and found nothing like that but found many like the kk 396 which doesn't look like the ones used in this socket.
Not an exact match .. that's for sure, but I thought it would give the OP something to work with. There are a lot of options for barrel type connectors ... wonder if that would work out best - I don't know???
Very annoying no one sells anything like them, but I have some sample sockets coming and I can ask if they can just sell the crimps.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe most aftermarket SNES plug terminals are not crimps but solder tab type and maybe permanently embed into the socket. Maybe someone who see a market in this can have compatible custom terminals stamped in small batches to cater to folks who want to populate additional pins into their stock plug(s). If nothing else, get it quoted for price.
Well let's wait till next week when I'll have some samples to look at and see how it's setup and if it uses the same terminals then I can see about getting them.
