Just got the Wii NiGHTS for a tenner.

I may as well have paid someone ten pounds to stamp on my balls, piss in my eyes, and shatter my dreams.

Voice acting.. a fucking owl.. sluggish controls.. missions...

    Eugh.

I can stamp on your balls, piss in your eyes and shatter your dreams for a fiver, I'll even chuck in a Sega Pico to shatter your dreams even further as I believe that that it and it's spin offs have made more more for Sega then the Saturn ever did in Japan.

well, you should never put so much faith in a company. They are out to make money, not art. Sometimes they sumble opon a masterpiece because some creative souls step in and do their thing. But they are just a company.
Same as american sport teams. Companies, no point in loving them.

I agree. I just sort of thought, surely Sega can't destroy NiGHTS. I mean, what is there to it? I can deal if it has flaws.

But not this. It's like they said, "Right, how can we piss off all the fans of the original NiGHTS?"

I agree and why don't you try to replace the name "Nights" to "Golden Axe" while you're at it. Same thing happening there I'm afraid.

This is what happens when you give a classic Japanese-made Sega game to a bunch of American developers who get their kicks out of graphics ("look how many polygons we put in") and absurd gameplay

The Wii is where good games go to die.

That's funny because the Xbox 360 is where Microsoft goes to die.

Let's face it. Ninty is doing pretty well. Complain all you want.

I'm just saying any old game revived for Wii by sega or anyone else ends up sucking.

new games on Wii can be fun.

Funny. Megaman 9 hit Wii first and is Wii exclusive in Japan.

All they had to do to make nights on wii great was kill that Fu*king owl, gag nights so she/he dosent talk & fix the animation on the 2 kids faces as it looks both wrong & freaky.

Apart from that it was ok.

Why is it that there's no love expressed for Sega's newer properties? Yakuza shook me in a way that Grand Theft Auto never did. The Club is an excellent competitive third-person shooter that got drowned out by a sea of nearly-identical FPS games. Critics can't shut up about how cool Valkyria Chronicles is, and the Total War series is the only thing worthwhile on PC that's not an MMO. I'm sure that the Sega stalwarts would prefer the next Shenmue, Space Harrier, or Shining Force in place of any of those titles. But to me, Sega is hardly dead. But it wouldn't surprise me to find that many gamers don't recognize this slimmed down, multinational monster in place of the staid and sober Sega we spent so much time loving.

Welcome to 5 years ago. They put out some decent stuff from now and again (Valkyria is pretty much the best game this gen... and the only one I've bothered to buy. :)) but other than that, it's turds all around.

Sega could be the richest game company if they wanted to be. They have tons... TONS of succesful franchises.

The same company that makes fantastic stuff like OutRun 2 and After Burner Climax, simply don't know how to get money with it.

Were's a new Alex Kidd game? What about a new Virtua Cop (And a Virtua Cop3 port to consoles?)...

Why not release Daytona USA on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network? I'm playing on a shitty old computer using a Model2 emulator! On modern consoles emulation would be easier!

They can't even make a Sonic game that doesn't suck. For me, they're just to lazy these days.

It's kinda sad to remember the 80's / early 90's. Sega simply owned the Arcade game market.

Yakuza was mediocre at best. I played about 6 hours of it and got bored. Sega are capable of making good games, they have the IP, but they don't deliver. That they don't probably says more about corporate reality than anything else. This isn't the 90s where they could write off massive investment in a game as "building the market" or something, they need to make a profit on every title.
