Here is my Sega Dreamcast kiosk I bought off Craigslist for $220 USD. Excellent condition, but you can tell in the picture above that there is a plastic hinge broken on the plate that covers the TV buttons. Also there are no locks on it and no plexi glass shield protecting the Dreamcast system from people messing with it. I replaced the two controllers and the Dreamcast system. All of the cables are neatly organised inside the kiosk.. Only the master power cord( i guess you call it) visible on the back of the kiosk. Two heavy duty fans on the back of the kiosk, one on each side. VERY loud fans. TV volume can be turned up pretty loud too without being distorted/crackley. Well worth the money. I recommend video game kiosks for collectors who have the room. Very fun.
If anyone wants the PAL version, give me a shout, it's yours for free if you collect it from South Wales. Can't get rid of the damn thing, worse purchase I ever made. Yours is nice though!
You STILL have it? Wow! I remember being tempted at the time, but I have no space for it. Someone in the UK should snaffle a bargain. If you need a cheap courier capable of handling it try: www.gaming-direct.co.uk
I have this kiosk. My brother picked it up for me from a Goodwill for $50, and didn't realize until afterward that the two halves come apart for easy transportation. I'm missing the clear plastic cover that goes in front of the console, as well as the hardware that attaches the controllers to the two flexible arms. It's occurred to me that a little VGA monitor of the right size would probably give a more impressive picture, but it's probably too late to market the Dreamcast to anybody at this point.
Nice Kiosk.......always reminded me of a dalek the US kiosk......never got to actually see one despite living in the US for 2 years...... If you should have any hi-res pics of your kiosk you don't mind sharing for dreamcastgallery.com let me know...thanks
It cost £100 to ship it about 150 miles as it weighs a lot, it's made from mild steel, it takes 2 people to lift it. I will give it another few months then dismantle, chop it up it and take it to the recycling centre to be melted down.
Post it on the free part of the marketplace or use a UK version of Craigslist or ask around. I'm sure someone would LOVE to have it.
I sold my Pal DC kiosk last year. I put it on ebay and it sold in a couple of days. I charged him for me to transport it 150 miles as well. I miss it now.
The TV is a Samsung TXH1370 (13"). It supports both coaxial and composite / RCA (mono). A LCD would be an ideal replacement for the extra features like VGA and lowering the unit's weight, but I think the CRT's curved glass really adds to the design nicely. For the hinged cover plate, you might want to try black velcro there until a suitable fix can be figured out.
