Sorry to curse, but Sega is FUCKING dead, when it comes to comes making consoles. If Sega makes a real console in 2012, then it is a God damn miracle, But personally, and realistically speaking, I bloody doubt it.
I'll apply, I a have ipro level 2 qualification http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/type/vrq/ipro/l2/documents/index.html only though do you think that'd be enough along with the various knowledge of these things i've picked up through the years hacking games? unfinished c+ / pascal, vb courses.
These latest rumours about a possible new console appearing in 2012 give off the impression that everyone's favourite Sega troll, Zack Morris, has come out from under his bridge yet again. On the other hand, Sega offering their name and IP to a new system from either Microsoft or Apple might be a realistic option, as it would mean that hardware development costs are passed on to a company that can afford this side of things with maybe a few suggestions as to what form the end product would take coming from the main software provider. There has been talk of an interactive system from Apple for quite some time now, with specific details including games that can be downloaded through an iTunes-style service plus compatibility with its previous touchscreen devices for interfacing. Meanwhile, with the recent unveiling of Nintendo's latest system, it's realistic to assume that rivals are also planning their next moves. Sony has already stated its intention to keep the PlayStation 3 running for ten years, but so far nothing has been seen of Microsoft's follow-up to the Xbox 360... well, not yet. Microsoft confirmed long ago that it was looking to build a working relationship with Sega, perhaps even resulting in the original Xbox being a direct continuation of the Dreamcast, which of course relied on the optional Windows CE operating system in addition to its own proprietary development libraries. My guess is that Sega may be looking to continue its links with Microsoft, possibly inputting the condition that whatever resulting platform comes from any collaboration is technically compatibile with specific arcade boards to ensure good ports of titles from its AM departments (even though few have produced anything of significant worth for a while now, in my opinion). Add the obligatory Sonic game and you have quite a strong launch line-up, but in all honestly what are the chances of this happening? In reality, there's more chance of next year being when this planet comes to a cataclysmic end!
unfortunately the wages arent enough for me, i did game testing when i left uni and found it was the greatest job i have ever had, plenty of like minded people around you and your seeing games during the development phase and get to play with some cool equipment, however you generally not paid well and if your somewhere down south then the cost of living usually is above what you get paid, however if your in a position where you could do it i would highly recommend you do, the only downside is sometimes you have to play games you dont like which really aint that bad
If that were true they wouldn't have launched the Xbox which only increased the pressure at the market and helped to kill the DC. After all back then MSFT was HUGE and the last time a big corporation entered the console market (sony) it was one big clusterfuck for both Sega and Nintendo. Had gates wanted to create a relationship with Sega it would've bought it or invested heavily on it, after all the Dreamcast was selling much better than the Xbox, it only needed more money 'cause Sega was broke. What they did was play joint venture while getting all the insider info needed to make their own console, thats all. Apple already launched 2 console-like devices, the ATVs, and both sold like shit. Its known jobs hates games and specially consoles, so for him to buy Sega and launch the iGenesis it would require more than a miracle, more like the second coming of the christ. And lets be honest: sonic games are no killer apts anymore, for that to work you would need to make a big AAA sonic game that reboots the entire franchise, the equivalent of the Dark Knight for the batman movie franchise.
For those currious, I think texan is zach morris again. I removed one of his bullsnuff topics a few days back.
