**PICS ADDED** SEGA MEGA CD....RARE PAL GAMES Hey dudes i was wondering if anyone can confirm if either of the following two games were released on PAL format for SEGA MEGA CD: Cannon Fodder The Smurfs If so can you provide picture evidence to back up your claim. I have found a lot of evidence on the net (in txt form) suggesting they may have got a release. Others include (these haven't had as much evidence!) Another World: Flashback Cosmic Fantasy Stories (Totally Doubt it!) Demolition Man Earnest Evans Heimdall (not too hopeful) Mega Race Myst (hmm.....?)
Canon fodder is unreleased. The smurfs is released, see my site for a box scan and review. Its pretty rare. All the others are unreleased (in PAL format) as well. (Althought a playable Flashback DEMO was released) Myst should've been the last PAL release but didn't make it out for some reason. I've read multiple reviews and it was done. There's one SUPER rare PAL Mega-cd game, which is [edit: censored, I want to be the first to pick it up! :smt083 don't need more ebay snipers)]. I only ever saw ONE copy of it (a friend of mine has it). One last comment; A SEGA advertisement of '96 gives a new price for both the Mega-cd and 32X . ('Power up for £99 each') and quotes 'Wirehead' as a Mega-cd PAL release, which seems really odd because the last MegaCD release had been produced a few months earlier and afaik Wirehead was U.S only. Strange..very strange.
Thanx what is the rare game? even if you just PM me. I won't be ale to afford it anyway. I maximum bidded Theme Park PAL for £40 and it sold for £104.99
" Heimdall (not too hopeful) " Hoho, youre sure its rare? I got it for $10 and its a real weird game (nice graphics but no story and no dialogs). For myst, i was thinking it was canned?
Hmm, a challenge, eh? Well let's see. There are a few games I haven't seen for a while, maybe about 15. I am discounting gooddealgames realeases BTW, they are still available through them. Of the games I haven't seen, most are games that were also released on cart (in some form or other). Most of these I wouldn't class as super expensive. Mind you, Im guessing out of those, the rarest would probably be Adventures of Batman & Robin, Dragon's Lair, The Smurfs and Syndicate. Of the games that weren't released on cart (I think!), Star Wars Chess, Dungeon Explorer, Make my Video: C&C Power Factory (probably not too expensive) and The Space Adventure jump out. Segafreak, my guess is that your title is either Star Wars Chess or Theme Park! Would I be right?
Kool i checked out your website. Was Citizen X actually released on PAL? You don't have a pic? Plus do you want any of the pics for the games you don't have? I have a near complete set now. GAZ
Or possibly Fatal Fury, haven't seen that in a loooong time *edit* hmm, haven't seen power rangers in ages either, but it was cheap when I last did! Damn, this is hard!
Yes I'd love those. CitizenX was available in pal format via gooddealgames I recall. I got the pics directly from them. (I asked for them and they sent 'em ) Retro..afaik B&R is the single most rare PAL release. So,you actually seen some pal copies? Smurfs& Syndicate are indeed kinda rare as well. Dragons lair is pretty common.
I don't think I have seen one in person yet, but I may know someone with a copy. I will have to check. I had a feeling that one would be extremely rare. Even the SNES game is quite scarce now (and boy, what a game! It was one of my favourites!). I remember reading about a Theme Park that was kinda rare once... I thought that was funny. Maybe that is the Mega CD version? If not, explain this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=49227&item=8143022398&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Personally I think that is crazy. I'd rather have a copy of Snatcher for around £30-50... and I thought that one was getting expensive! Sorry I don't have a copy of B&R to sell you though... actually I think just about the only spare game I have is Jaguar XJ220, heh.
On this point (sort of) Does anyone have a list of the MEGA-CD-32X games that were produced? I am sure there wasn`t many
If I remember rightly, there were 96 or 97 released. Go look at segafreak's site! Oh, or there's www.sega-cd.de
That helps, maybe ;-) I can't remember, on wich site I've found this list.... 3.5) The CARTRIDGES & CD'S LIST : ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name MemSize Manufacturer Type ============================================================ After Burner 16Meg Sega Shooter B.C. The rarest PAL releases (excluding the GDG releases) are Fatal Fury Special, Syndicate & Adventures of Batman & Robin. (A copy of Syndicate sold for just over £150 on eBay not long ago). Good Deal Games released PAL versions of Star Strike and Bug Blasters alongside their usual NTSC versions, but only pressed 5 copies of each in PAL (there's a possible second run on the cards, though). Including these 2, there's exactly 100 PAL MegaCD games. Check Chris Burgin's excellent site The PAL MegaCD Library for scans et al. Also, you may be interested in the recently uploaded PAL MegaCD section of the Digital Press Online Rarity Guide (http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/search.cmf - click 'SegaCD' & 'Non-US Releases').
Interesting post guys. I've got a few Mega CD games on here (including Star Wars Chess, which is still fun): www.oldengineer.info ...Strange thing about the MegaCD is I can still remember pre-ordering the Mk1 console, many, many moons ago. ....I remember picking it up on the day of release, playing the launch titles to death and waiting for the day that SonicCD was released ...Oh, happy days, I've still got the invoice and boxes for the MegaCD console which I must dig out sometime. ...I remember the console cost an 'arm and a leg' in its day, but soon paid for itself with the release of SonicCD!!!!
