Great site man, congratulations! Let me know when its back up, I own around 40 PAL MegaCD titles and I would be more than happy to contribute with some spine-card scans and some random info. I can scan the spines for Battle Frenzy, Powermonger, Prince of Persia, Robo Aleste, Slam City, Syndicate, Theme Park and Wonderdog which I think you are missing. btw, some of my games have their spine-cards glued on to the boxes! Does anyone else have MegaCD games with glued on spines or is it just me? Also about the Flashback demo, you had it in your site as 'unknown origin' or something like that. I got mine from a mag called SegaPro CD, as I did with all my other demo cd's, not Megapower(?). My demo cd's are almost identical to yours, except yours has some writing next to the Paragon Publishing logo, my cd's just have the logo. Other than that, they seem identical. I also have a Mickeymania demo with 'MegaSega' written on top and spanish copyright text, I assume it came from a spanish mag called MegaSega. And since I live in Portugal, some of the games I bought here came with an extra manual in Portuguese and yellow SEGA PORTUGAL shield warranty sticker on the box. Oh yeah... I also own Samurai Shodown, so make that 5! I dont have Fatal Fury Special though, only the demo :smt009
Right, the site hosting package has been upgraded and for the sum of 50 quid per year it now has 10GB of data transfer per month which (I hope and pray) will keep it going. Oh, and an obscene 2.5GB of space - I might get round to adding the full sized images one day. The re-activation is meant to be real time but I wouldn't go hammering at it just yet, given it's the weekend. Anagrama - Don't worry about it, the site is there to be looked at, I was just shocked it chewed through 100MB in 12 days, especially as the hit counter hasn't clocked up too many hits. I hope this means people are taking a good look around and that the layout etc. is easy on the eye. Much more though, and I'm going to have to start paying you for PR! Garyfoo182 - After the PAL CD dried up I took a run at a 32X cart set (currently four short), and I remember grabbing your auction and wondering if you'd be spending my own money against me any time soon! The 6 missing are Star Strike, Bug Blasters, Marko's Magic Football, Fatal Fury Special, Syndicate and Adv Batman & Robin. I also need Power Factory with the blue stripe cover, demo of Slam City (seen one with console etc, didn't bid), the DP Demo CD which seems to have been handed out at some trade show or other, and the World Cup USA 94 demo CD (which may not exist). BTW, why are you especially interested in the later covers? Codeman1 - Scans of those spines would be fantastic, contact me via the site (when it's back up) and we'll sort something out. The spines seem to have been attached with a small piece of double-sided tape to the front and back of the case, and either give up the ghost over time or stick like you wouldn't believe. They can be very carefully pried off with a small blunt instrument like a thin ruler. My Flashback demo is marked "Demo CD" but nothing else - I thought it was SP as MP marked almost all of their demo CDs, though at least they both marked the Rebel Assualt demos. Let me know which demos of yours are different from mine - there may be more than one variation. I haven't even looked into demo discs from the rest of Europe, and now I know they exist I can't help thinking that they must be incredibly rare. BTW, can anyone help with these: - Manual scan of Dracula Unleashed - my manual cover is water damaged and I'm not paying the going rate for just a manual. - Cover for The Smurfs - mine is in a double case and otherwise intact, but it looks like the front was once cut down to fit a standard CD case. - The site logs show a bunch of 404's but I can't trace them - anyone had one?
Dunno why i collect the later released games, its the same for the Sega Mega Drive. I just won Dungeon Master II - Skullkeep and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Eye of the Beholder so they should arrive soon. Next on my list of hunt downs is Space Adventure, Marko's Magic Football (snap!) and Fahrenheit. I have some really kool games for the Mega Drive that are quite difficult to find: Daze Before Christmas, Ecco Jr, Garfield Caught In The Act, Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, Exo Squad, Landstalker (German release came in a blue border box!), Revolution X, Second Samurai, Samurai Shodown, Story of Thor, X-Men 2: Clone Wars. Vecterman 2 (NTSC) is also excellent. I got it cause you dont need an adapter to play it over here (although i do have an adapter). GAZ
From what I've seen, that blue-box Landstalker is actually more common than the black-box versions. Also, are you aware of the French blue-box version of 'Dr. Robotnik and his [sic] Mean Bean Machine' ?
The DNS change has gone through and the site is finally back on line. I'd better get scanning... AntiPasta - Any chance of a scan or pic of that spine card?
I wasnt aware there was a blue box version of Dr Robotnick bla.... but thanx ill keep an eye out for it. GAZ
Sure. My scanner hasn't been hooked up in 2 years, so I might not be able to do a scan but I can make a 1600x1200 picture with my 'cam
VA: Yup it probably was a quote followed by the text, which is why I didn't quote this time ;-) hehe Yakumo: Is your proper FTP back up now, then? I wanna try that Saturn *ahem* Interactive System Overview :smt033
Yeah, it's been up for a while now. The bummer is that the ISO is now gone I could always do another though when I have time. Yakumo
Are there any other foreign blue box games that anyone knows of that aren't Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Landstalker and Toejam and Earl: Panic on Funkotron
wth?? French Night Trap? Awesome! Are there more dubbed Digital Pictures games? btw I remember hearing some rumors about a different version of Night Trap which was censored or something like that. Is this true or is it just another rumor?
Yeah i know i was pretty amazed. So i quickly bought this baby before revealing it on the forum. HEHE! GAZ
I've got a japanese version of Night Trap. THe game is all in Japanese apart from the singing section near the begining when they have the party in the living room. that's just the same as the English version. Yakumo
Hello everyone I'm superdamiarno, otherwise known as Damian Maidment Sound familiar ? For anyone who has checked out Chris Burgin's excellent pal mega cd site http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/ you may know Thought i'd come out of the shadows and introduce myself. Been collecting pal mega cd games for only a short time really, but have been really fortunate to have collected what I believe to be a complete pal set, yes i'm the one with batman and robin with spine card etc. Anyway, nice to know there is interest still in the old machine. Damo
I have a french language version of Fahrenheit which I bought unknowingly, sealed from ebay uk. It was sealed until I managed to get an English version which unfortunately came without instructions, so I did a little swap as I believe the instruction book is the same in both versions. As for Night Trap, I believe a scene was omitted from the american version, although i'm unsure of the details.
I put up Theme park, Syndicate, The Smurfs & Corpse killer (mcd non 32x version). Stupidly high B.I.N prices but hey..you know these zany collectors..so why not try.. :smt082
