sega mega drive model one with horizontal bars

today got genesis model one with sega cd and 32x system the sega cd drive was broken under repair at the mo guess what no lines on the usa genesis model with my av cables so its not the cables i will keep you updated and i will upload some pics soon

 

Same problem here. I've never had a problem on any other TV.

 

Are you using official sega power adaptors? those RETRO GAME!11!!! adaptors that are straight outta hk black markets use shit components with little or no regulation. ditch those if your using them and buy the official stuff.

 

Nope. Official here too. And now I'm getting a very loud buzz.

 

Get a can of Deoxit and try it on the video port. Its about $15 a can

Have you tried replacing the caps? They must be at least 20 years old by now, maybe some have dried up.

 

yeh but i have not got around to doing that yet i have done most of my mega cds and cdx system and game gears and some other system need doing
still it lots of caps i wish i could find a kits so i have not got to wait for them in the post

 

is Deoxit D5 safe to use on motherboards
eg: cart solt controller port and power connecter
and cap leakage like on game gears

 

Deoxit is used for removal of oxidisation. When sprayed onto something it (for lack of a better word) pretty much dissolves the oxidisation. I used it on one of my crappy video ports and it made the image a little better (it needed reflowing really)

 

hi tryed it on my model one mega drive did not change a thing but i am going to reflow the port and see if it changes anything i have tryed the console with the 32x system and the horizontal bars are gone but still i am going to solve this prob

 

The bars are gone when the 32x is added? clean that cartridge port thoroughly using the card and wet glasses cloth trick. if that doesnt fix it reflow the video port.
