Sure, but Saturn is probably the Sega system i like the less...:(
and as he said,if you want all 1200+ games, you'll need to buy at least 600-700 CRAPPY games...i know that,i'm doing the same for SFC...1450 titles,i'd say 500 of them are good to fantastic ones...maybe 200 more are "acceptable",but 700 are PURE shit!!!
    And yet i collect them!
    I still need 150 games or so,but they're Mahjong/Shogi/Wrestle/Fishing shitty games,and they're EXPENSIVE!4000 yens for a shogi game,ewww...
    But i need it...so i wait until i find it for 1500 :)

To me the Saturn is the most interesting of Sega Systems. So much hidden quality stuff that you have just never seen. Last week I bought 30 odd titles with 6 of them actually being very good while the rest range from so-so to complete shit.

I know what you mean about spending out big money of shite games. Luckily the Saturn shite games seem to be a bit cheaper than those on cartridge format. Still, those love adventure games............ Why, oh why are there so many ??

    And you're in Japan!
I'm in France, so for every game i find, i have to pay double price because of shipping charge!

Give me 1 day in Tokyo and i find all the SFC games i was missing...but at which price,i have no idea...

Anyway, for 500 yens cheap games, i always pay double because of shipping costs :(

That is a big problem of not being here. I know for sure I wouldn't have half the stuff I have if I was still in the UK. Still you have a very impressive collection !

I never had the opportunity to play any of those LD games.
I got all the stuff, though, but used it as a device to play all the nec and megadrive/cd games on one machine.
I didn't even know they made specific games for it when I got my CLD (ten years ago. hell, time goes...)

Damn, someone (who shall remain unnamed) has waaaay to much f*ckin' time on their hands! (Not to mention money) That's an awesome collection.

Neo Geo CD 100% Complete Factory Sealed Collection?? How the hell do you find every game sealed?

Jaguar CD & Cart 100% Complete Factory Sealed Collection. Damn, you are a hardcore collector.

What the hell is Dr Paolo no Totteoki Video? I guess they teach Japanese kids to be perverts at an early age! :)

I think the Saturn is mis-understood. The Saturn was possibly the ultimate 2D home system (except for the Neo Geo, but who could afford it? Or maybe the PC-FX or X68000). There are a number of almost arcade perfect 2D ports. I think Sega was torn between a fully 3D gaming system (ie the PSX) and a powerhouse 2D gaming system. At the time, 3D hadn't really taken hold, and 2D needed 'more' horsepower to really compete.

And, looking at the PSX ports of Street Fighter 2 type games, you can see where Sega was right. But, 3D took over and PSX was the ideal system. Even crappy 3D games (such as Tomb Raider) beat quality 2D releases.

It seems like a lot of French people have an obsession with Japanese games. Is that true? Or, are we only seeing the vocal minority?

well I'm adding one laseractive title that both, adol and tom don't have in their collections(so it seems).
a prototype, that supposely never got to the stores.
probably tougher to find than timegal:

    yes it's mine personal copy.

altough it has original packaging, it wasn't officially released.
in a rarity guide its scarcity is rated - 10/10, as a one of a kind.
and adol, yes I've seen you having goku....but for mega ld module, not pc-engine module, check again ^_~

There's no point in having the very same game in LD-Rom2 form!

I don't have it, just because i NEVER looked for it (since i already had it, of course)

Do you have 3D Museum Virtual Australia?

    that's how you see it.
in my opinion game looks and plays better in its far superior ld-rom2 format.
but since its nearly imposibble to find it, I don't suppose that would matter to you.
nevertheless, I had tougher times finding this than timegal, 3d aussie museum or vajra 2 for that matter.

you would have to be a ld completist.
then again this is not a officially released game.

I've had it but I sold it along with rest of my LD collection, I only kept Goku Prototype LD-rom2.

I'm a "completist" on multi supports if you didn't realize it.
While many people are happy to have a 100% complete collection on a system, i'm now over TWENTY complete collections, and that maybe explains i didn't "focus" on EVERY unreleased game on every system.

But i don't expect you to understand it, unless you'd be in same position than me.

    That's why i didn't look for it

    Too bad :(
Did you sell it for much $$? :)
