Not sure if this is getting an XB360 release but: [EDIT] Seems it is also coming to the XB360 and PC! http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/825/825458/imgs_1.html hot diggity! :love2:
Nice pics . I didn't know this game was being made for PS3 (or any next gen machine). I hope it can turn as good as SR2 (my favourite).
If it plays like Sega Rally 2006 on the PS2... just forget it. As for the graphics, it looks a bit cartoonish. Like the old V-Rally series, which is cool.
I fully agree Johnny. When the game was anounced they mentioned a 360 release as well. Only people who wont be able to play it are wii only owners.
Kinda look like renders.... That or the FXs are exagerated (check the reflections on the headlamps...) They could port the SR2 from DC to Wii, no sweat, but they better make a killer wiimote interface cuz I'm not paying for a 1998 game all over again...
This new Sega Rally is once again made by an whole different team then SR2006 (and the origional SR versions). It is being made in the UK by Sega's own Racing Studio. They are trying to make this version go back to its roots. And I am confident that they will succeed.
I'd hope that! I have only played Sega Rally 1 & 2, and I like 1 already a little bit better, though both are good.
I just took a quick look and you can see the pixels/jagged edges on the bumper of the SCOOBY. I doubt you would notice this in the game at all I some how feel that you can`t beat the original however dated it may now look! i DOPB
You read my mind. I'm all for a new Sega Rally, but there's no need to make the graphics all fuzzy and cartoonish. Times have changed.
I think you are exaggerating the cartoony look of the graphics. Also notice the road deformations, which is going to have a big impact on gameplay (at least one would hope!)
No, not really. The game has the same look that MotoGP on the 360 and Formula1 on PS3 have with respect to the in-game models. Colin McRae Dirt is also in development, but yet the car models look cleaner and more realistic even at this early stage of progress.
I'm not really sure if those images are renders or not, but the visuals are nowhere close to the "unrealistic" feel I'd come to expect from reading your comments - just take a look at more recent titles in the Virtua Fighter series or something like Crazy Taxi and you'll know that Sega has a habit of giving its software a distinct visual style that isn't too far from the real world yet not quite photo-realistic...
We can only hope... Because people were expecting the same of the "new" Sonic, and look what we got... :banghead: I hope it goes back to it's roots. Sega Rally rules!
Hell yeah, I had a lot of hope put into that game and now look at it... Even Kramer is dissapointed Anyway, I dont think the graphics look cartoonish at all, I dont know how it could unless it was celshaded...
I must ask if some of you guys need to book an appointment at your local opticians. That game doesn't look cartoony at all. It looks like it should. Very nice without that photorealistic crap look. It's a GAME not LIFE. I think it looks pretty good. I just hope it plays well but some how I doubt it Yakumo
the art direction of SegaRally 2 and the physics, damn, everything about that (arcade) game was the best!
Well, i said "a bit" cartoonish. I even mentioned the V-Rally series style, which i like and think it's cool. And i agree with you. Just because this next gen can do photorealistic graphics, not all games should be like that.
