Its not looking good is it? In its day I loved Sega but Ive come to hate it now, too much shovelware. Shame, guess it will soon be sat next to atari in the gaming graveyard.
sega have been too big for that to happen...damn damn daaaaaaaaamn! send to hell the fucking pachinko!!!!!!
What else can be said? maybe that staying in the arcade business after almost a decade of decline is like selling suits to hippies: theres no market for it. Half a billion, and for what? is not like they launched a new console or anything meaningful.
But whats the valuation of SEGA nowadays? 'cause even for a big 16 billion company like Ford half a billion is a lot of dough. Last time I check, SEGA was worth less than 3 billion..
I ve seen companies do worse and recover. To be frank, I couldnt tell either way without looking at a balance sheet or some financial report for shareholders at least (athough those carry a lot of gloss). I see no point in assuming stuff either up or down at this point.
Word, and what better way to make up for a commercial failure like shenmue than porting it to every piece of hardware thats able to run it? Coming up next: Shenmue for PSP:nod::lol: I'm not saying they're broke, just that they're losing a lot of money for no good reason...
Why don't you guys have a fund drive and buy Sega? What is it, 500 million dollars? If we hunker down and get the word out we can raise it.
Looking at the member list and see how many people are active members, ie more then zero posts and have logged on the last month, there are about 600 active uses so we only need to raise the tiny amount of about $840,000 each.
I'd rather spend the money on a party with coke and whores. Just means it wouldn't work (in many ways).
