I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Sonic Heroes, but in my opinion it's main problem is the lack of focus given during its production. By developing this game for several consoles, there were always going to be problems in one version that weren't there in another - no two systems are alike, and ports will always suffer in this respect. However, what most of you are forgetting is that this game started off as a Dreamcast-exclusive back in 2000 under the working title of Sonic And Knuckles RPG. While there's never been any leaked media of this early incarnation, I'm fairly sure that most of the content - as with most abandoned DC titles that were later resurrected for other systems - remained virtually identical. Unfortunately, because it would have been for just one platform, it's more likely that Sonic Team may have taken a lot more care with Sonic Heroes, had the Dreamcast survived long enough. We definitely missed out on this one, and as a result we've been left with a rough port that ultimately lost Sega quite a bit of support. In fact, has Sonic's confidence ever properly recovered from this particular episode? A once great series is only now - with the announcement of its next-generation update - starting to regain its position...
So when are we gonna find out this announcement, seeing as TGS has started ( and the first day is over!)
maybe the announcement will be that they'll stop making hyped up announcments because they usually don't turn out to be that great anyways.
Apparently Sega's making some controllers for PS2 called "SurfWave" which are wireless. This might have been it.
...well, that does indeed have nothing to do with software or arcade. And it is not precisely something expectable out of SEGA. What is expectable is how irrelevant the shocking news is. Whee. And stuff. Let's see, there's still the unlikely chance of something else being it.
They announced that they have found a HG wells and/are going back intime to kick themselves into not being so stupid about past consles and games. They are also going further back in time and giving breast implants to their women so i find them even more hot...
you mean this...which was posted on tuesday? I was very underwhelmed with it then...and thought it looked like a photochop or cheap mod or something. I doubt this is anything to cause a big shit storm about. If this is the announcement, Sega truely doesn't get it anymore... http://xbox.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143639
It looks far better than the horrific standard d-pad Sony tosses on their controllers. It's not exciting in the least, but it looks like a decent controller. The joysticks look like a serious afterthought, though.
It looks okay, but it would have been much cooler if it was a Dreamcast controller clone. There's already too many DualShock look-a-likes. :smt009
