uh I ALSO NEED A FRIGGIN SATURN >_<.....DONT FORGET THE EVANGELION GAME FOR THE SATURN!!! IT ROXORZ! is like, the second best evangelion game made (first one being evangelion 64, then this, then the ps2 one :Hangman:
Hmmm...I had the opportunity to pick up Enemy Zero for 10 bucks...but I didn't because I really hated D2...anyone still think its worth it. (It's very unlikely the store will have sold the game...or any Saturn game before I get back there) Edit: Evangelion-01...where are you located at...er...other than "In hell" gamestores near my house sell saturns for 20-25 bucks when they have them.
. don't forget it's quite fascinating to collect Saturn hardware as well. so far I believe only hardware I haven't got are below ones unless there are pachingo and fishing rod controller for Saturn though I haven't seen nor heard about them. Derby Skeleton Keyboard NetLink Hitachi Hi-Navi Hitachi VCD card PAL Saturn VCD card that's about it for official hardware. of course there are tons more for 3rd party that I haven't got but that's different story. cheers
Saturn had great games. The ones i remember i actually played were: - Virtua Fighter - Virtua Fighter 2 - Daytona USA - Daytona USA C.E. - Sega Rally (extremely addicting) - Guardian Heroes - Clockwork Knight - Panzer Dragoon - Sonic Jam - Sonic R - Waku Waku 7 - Die Hard Arcade - Figthing Vipers (i like this game a lot) - Fighters Megamix - All SNK games - Out Run (Arcade perfect conversion) - Astal - Victory Goal - Radiant Silvergun (used to play this a lot on arcade - was avaiable on STV boards) - Decathlete - Nights
dj898, still dont have a Netlink? They shouldn't be too hard to find in the States, last summer when I was in Michigan I bought mine (unboxed but with all manuals + keyboard converter) for $20... and they had another one too. I'll be back there this summer, if you want I can have a look for you.
I'm surprised that some of you recommended Waku Waku 7. It's great on the Neo, but the Saturn port is pretty bad... slowdown EVERYWHERE.
Yes, Saturn has a lot of great games. Don't forget the 3 scenarios of Shining Force 3, is the greatest for me. Saturn has great RPGs, shooters, fighting games, anime style and adult adventures
i live in the us *atlanta*, but i whant a japanese saturn coz around 90% of all the games i whant for it are japanese ^^. btw. i think this kind of topic is really good, we should make sticky's of the best games for saturn,n64,dreamcast,genesis,nes,snes and all those cool consoles ^^ buy >_< :smt017
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Grandia, Dead or Alive, and Virtual-On. The PS1 ports of Grandia and DOA were inferior to the Saturn versions (which proves that the Saturn IS more powerful than the PS1), and Virtual-On with the twin-sticks AND Netlink play was unbelievable. And since I'm a shooter nut, I have to mention Capcom Generation 1. It contains 1943, which to me this game, along with R-Type, are the 2 best shooters ever from the 1980s.
I remember playing Dead Or Alive on the PlayStation and thinking "WTF" The Saturn version is so solid looking with beautiful hi-rez images while the PSX version is all bendy with not a straight line in sight like most 3D games on the system :smt019 It did have better lighting than the Saturn though. Yakumo
I have both but I didnt particularly adore any of them... perhaps because I suck at VO (and dont have the sticks) and as far as beat em ups are concerned I prefer the Street Fighter games :smt043 (however, SF cant beat the "bouncing breasts" option in the DOA option screen :smt033 )
I'm a huge Saturn fan, but ignorant fanboy crap like this is not needed. 2D and 3D capabilities are different things, and when you start talking about ports, you open up many other variables. Symphony of the Night looked better on the PS, yet this is not solid evidence that the PS did 2D better than the Satrun, as it was just a sloppy port by a third mill dev team.
well it does not 'prove' it as such no... what I do find is more illustrative is that Treasure cancelled a PS1 port of Radiant Silvergun despite the huge demand :smt017 And by the way, there's some guy on Usenet who did quite a lot of Saturn vs PS1 comparisons on his website, I can dig up the URL if anyone's interested. Moreover, am I the only one being annoyed by the frequent appearance of someone named "Guest" who comes in and flames people?
Just someone that can`t be r`sd to register and show who he really is I think we should :snipe: Then :Hangman: Then :toimonster:
. just curious... seeing Saturn has several fishing titles was there fishing rod controller for Saturn? Also what about the pachinko controller like the one for PCE/SNES? my old man's bit of fishing nut and one of his old crazy is collecting all the fishing console games with controller - so far I think he has DC, PSX setup and possibly SNES although not sure about this one. cheers
You got a source on this? A buddy of mine that worked for Activision Japan said they were in the process to buy the rights to reprogram it for the Playstation. They bailed out b/c Treasure wanted "way too much money" for it.
I am guest. As I didn't post "You suck" or anything that brainless, I don't think I flamed the guy. I apologize for being rude, I'm just tired of seeing stuff like he posted. And no one calls him on it, which is even worse. If someone said the DC was more powerful than the PS2, it wouldn't make you less of a Sega fan to point out that it may be able to do textures better, but it overall is probably less powerful. I am not even debating whether the Saturn is more powerful than the PS, but to compare one game to its port than declare it as proof of anything is silly. Now that I am off on the wrong foot, it's nice to finally speak to you as I've lurked for a long time.
