There are a lot of possibilities. Have you tried making a copy of one of your original discs and seeing if that boots OK? That would help to verify the ability of your console to read CD-R and your burning process.

I have a spare universal modchip v3. It is compatible with all the revisions, both model 1 and 2(20&21pin models).
I can sell it for £20 including shipping.

Be more patient. People have lives beyond the forum... and work. Bad_ad probably hasn't long been off work and it's still work time in Canada. Ape sells them too, doesn't he? In America.

If this boots to the bios before you even get into game play (just after you enter your name and the next FMV cut plays) it is because it is either missing CDDA or the CDDA is corrupt, a mod chip can not fix that.

    EDIT:

CDDA = Compact Disc Digital Audio, aka Music tracks

Unfortunately you can only do that if the game is ripped in redump format to start with, that is a little over complicated.

True it isn't easy. They offer .dat file for certain console but I have no clue what to do with them. I know Cleanrip for Wii uses them which is nice if you want to make sure you get a good rip.

It is great software and can even fix sectors and make what was not working, working but if tracks are missing, it can't do much about that.

Though I can tell you that the game has two audio tracks on CD's 1 to 3 and three audio tracks on CD 4

Trurip also has dat files to be used in clrmamepro (an audit tool for roms, scan and verify) again the disc image would need to be in the format they dump with to start with to get an accurate check, if I remember they do ccd+img+sub, that personally I would convert to bin+cue anyway, not much difference bbetween bin and img format except between the tracks one uses 00 and the other uses FF from what I remember anyway, can't remember what uses what.

redump is not the only data source for rips/backups, saying that neither is Trurip lol, off the top of my head not sure who else collects data from rip for Saturn asides from TOSEC but Trurip kind of took over those anyway for a lot of systems

emulation may be another way to do some tests before burning like Yabause that has more accurate results than SSF, though for playing I like SSF, then again I just like the real console anyway

To avoid wasting CD-Rs you can burn to a cd-rw and then check if you can listen to the audio tracks on your pc. If yes, it was burned right and so you can blank the cd-rw and proceed with the real cd-r. I also had problems with CDDA for saturn games, some were bad dumps/format and you heard static instead of music, very annoying.

A virtual drive would work just as easy also ;)

emulator testing is another way as long as there are no emulation issues that can't be guaranteed and there are no perfect emulators of the Sega Saturn system

Yeah I totally agree on the bad dumps there are too many of them and yeah it's annoying, thankfully I done some testing before committing to burning, though that in itself can be a pain.

Some disc emulator software are more resilient than burners/consoles. I swear I once had a Saturn game that had the right structure mounted on a virtual drive but turned out to have static noise once burnt. This is maybe because of the settings I used to burn it though, I do my burning on Linux from the command-line. I ended up reaching for my good old trusted crw-f1 and it worked.
