SEGA Saturn cases (JPN)

I'm wondering if jewel cases from Japanese release titles have any Saturn markings on them much like Playstation's jewel cases... Every game I've received feel like they've been replaced, also some saturn games have a completely clear cases where the CD tray is and some are not.

Now I've seen games being sold *complete* without any case at all...

 

Nah, they are not like NeoCD cases, just standard cases.
I have some sealed games here so I know they havent been replaced.

There are a couple of different types of cases, but none of them are unique like the NGCD ones or certain PlayStation cases. The medium ones (a complete list can be found on satakore) are kind of hard to replace and sometimes you see them for sale, squished in a regular sized case - makes me cringe.

Games only came in black and transparent cases, never white or anything like that (some sellers swap cases so you see Saturn games with white CD trays from time to time).

Yeah, Christmas Nights came in a white case.

AFAIK, all JP Saturn games had the "Compact Disc" logo on the inside of the case. Never a Saturn logo or anything like that.

 

Well, these rules do not apply to not-for-sale/demo items.

 

All Japanese Saturn cases are standard CD cases, be it normal, slightly fatter or the old double cases. They are all industry standard music CD cases with the Compact Disc logo. Also, i'm pretty sure there's more than just Christmas Nights which didn't have the standard black or clear insert tray. I'll have to check though.

Oh, just thought. Need for Speed or Nissan GT something or other comes in a shitty sized case that some PlayStation games used. That's the only one though.

 

If that's case I'll buy some jewel cases for those (no case) *complete* saturn games.. Sadly no one has Vampire Warrior in a case -_-

Yes I mean Vampire Savior and Darkstalkers Revenge.. I can't find any complete unless they don't have a 50c jewel case :shrug:

But the Vampire Savior 4mb ram box comes with a standard transparent jewel case inside, with the manual, but no back art.

Its the same for all the games that came bundle with ram, unless there some exceptions

 

You're right, I noticed that on few bundled cart games!

I'm wondering how much the 4MB cart bundle is worth..posted in the Price check forum a few hours ago :\

 

I bought mine from Yakumo's store for around $24. I often see them on ebay for around $30~40

 

25-30 should be enough, but this is off-topic. It's a brilliant game, so well worth the money.

The Nissan GT case is indeed unique and a hassle, I completely forgot about it. Almost as bad as those PlayStation cases (which are also beyong annoying).

 

Just thought, Grandia uses a white Double style CD case :nod: so there's another that's not black. I'm sure there are others too.

My Grandia its in a black double case. Didnt notice that before XP

 

I'm pretty sure it's white or maybe that's just the re-print? I'll check tonight when I get home.

 

Both Grandia and Grandia Memorial Package are white! Mine's in a white case as well.

 

My previous Grandia was in a white case, my current memorial edition its in a black one. Gonna buy another one later them.
