Selling: Unneeded Arcade Stuff

Discussion in 'The ASSEMblergames Marketplace' started by Borman, Sep 24, 2005.

  1. I'm not real familiar with the Naomi setup. Would someone enlighten me as to what the purpose of the I/O board is? Does the Naomi set-up not have a built in Jamma connector so that you need an adapter or something?

Nail. Head. Bang. Thats exactly it, without the I/O board you can't do a great deal. the I/O board basically turns it into jamma compatible, and a few extra snazzy ports too. I seem to remember hearing that there is a quite rare capcom I/O board which supports 6 buttons, but is apparently quite hard to get hold of. The sega one itself isn't cheap - It's about the same price as the machine itself when sold used.

  3. Thanks for clearing that up for me, thats what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. Well since the whole Naomi setup is a bit on the pricey side, I think I will just stick with my Dreamcast and Jamma adapter I slapped together for now. Not quite as good as the real thing, but darn close, and Dreamcast games are a lot easier on my wallet.

The regular Sega I/O board supports six buttons too (had one myself).

Really, must be confused there. Whats the reason that the capcom (I think it was capcom, It may have been someone else though) is more desireable then?

Capcom IO is more desirable because it doesnt require a power supply.

The only downside to the Capcom adapter is that it can't output enough juice to run the GD-ROM drive.

Ah, but thats wrong. If you tweak the power, it can output enough for a GD Drive.

Ok, I shouldn't have said that it couldn't power the GD-ROM, but it does require tweaking that can potentially fry your system.
