    Hi,

Some photos of my current crop of wipEout games. Still got some more to get though...

First up are the various versions of the original wipEout for PlayStation. The alternative NTSC U longbox version is on it's way, and I still need the Platinum PAL release.

wipEout XL/2097 is one of my favorite games. Pictured are the original PAL and PAL platinum releases, plus the NTSC J release and a Mac version. Still need a couple of US releases, the PC release and the Amiga release to finish this.

Next up is wipEout 3 (or wip3out). The NTSC J version had the best cover-art.

wipEout 64 was released late in the N64 life, but only in PAL and NTSC U regions (I think, there are some reports that it may have been released, or been very close to release in Japan).

A version of both wipEout and wipEout XL was released for the Sega Saturn. I've still got a most of the Saturn versions to get, but the rarest (NTSC J wipEout XL) should be arriving in a couple of days.

wipEout Fusion was a bit of a critical and commercial failure, but I didn't find it too bad. The NTSC and PAL versions are identical, so I only bothered getting the PAL version. As far as I know, it was never released in Japan. The Fusion press kit contained two DVDs in a case with a snazzy lenticular cover.

wipEout Pure is next. The Japanese release should arrive next week. All regions had region-specific downloadable content that was not compatible with other regions. I'm also chasing the Pure press kit.

All wipEout Pulse versions are the same also. The press kit for Pulse should be arriving in a few days.

wipEout HD was a PSN-only download, but there was a press kit containing a DVD version of the game.

Then there's the soundtrack CDs. I have the wipEout Pure and wipEout XL versions, with the wipEout 2097 version arriving soon. I'm still not sure whether there was an official soundtrack for the original or Fusion versions.

The collection as it stands today. Thanks, Dave.

Impressive. Do you have other promo Wipeout items? I love the artistic style of the series and it's something that would look nice even in a living room!

Great collection! I'm a big fan of Wipeout too, and i too agree that the NTSC|J Wip30ut has the best cover-art.

Talking about the japanese cover-art, your NTSC|U/C longbox is one of the first print (i have one also). That particular art was the same from the NTSC|J, but it wasn't helping sales on US. So they changed for the art you have on the normal cd case release. First they added a glued cover over the first print longbox cases, and after all those were sold, they re-released the game, still on longbox, with the "new" cover art (the one that it's on your way).

    nice collection, really!

IMHO wipeout fusion was a real masterpiece and clearly one of the best in the serie.... i didn't know it was such a failure...

I didn't know about the glued-on cover art. Ha. That seems a bit, ummmm, desperate.

Not really. I have a couple of wipEout 3 t-shirts that came with the game when I first bought it, and another couple of t-shirts that are now well worn. I have all the EDGE magazine articles and covers with wipEout. I'd love to find some original merchandise, but it's getting on 14 years since the first games release, so little hope. The Designers Republic that did the art direction for the first few games also went under recently....

Mine arrived today and it's exactly like the one pictured above, with the slide-over cover art.

Why didn't americans like the cover art? How strange. I love it.

Are there any more WipEout HD press kits around?

Yeah, that's the soundtrack. There is an unofficial one for wip3out as well.

Nice collection there, never played much of the game(s) but i did like 2097 on the PS1 so might have to get that again or one of them on the psp.

I never knew there was wipeoutXL or any wipeout game on the PC before.

Very nice collection! I love seeing collections based on certain franchises.
The Wipeout HD presskit is VERY nice, so stylish.

I might have a spare copy of the PAL pressdisc of Wipeout 2097 for the Saturn if you want it. (just pay shipping).

As others have said, that HD Press Kit is absolutely lovely. I never knew the game existed on a disc (strange it's a DVD, not a Blu?). What's that other thing in the tin; it looks like a USB flash drive?
