There is more, but I'll eventually get to cataloging the whole collection. No time at the moment haha
This is my little Nintendo corner. Ended up picking up the TV cabinet free from work, so that houses a bunch of consoles all hooked up and ready to play and all my PS1 and PS2 stuff. Over the last few weeks got this arranged up in between thesis writing! Whole bunch of boxed consoles aren't shown but they're around somewhere. I am pretty keen to find a closing down Civic Video or Blockbuster and seeing if they're shelving is for sale. Would be an easier way to store games. Games behind games unfortunately so the depth in every shelf is filled completely. Not enough space.
I reckon that's the issue here. There's very little shelving options I'm having trouble myself finding the right shelving, I quite like the Gloss PVC finish on furniture so that's what I'm looking for... Lately Officeworks has had some nice shelving.
Exactly right! I was thinking video shop shelving would be best, the ones that go around the edge of the shop - perfect height intervals, especially suitable for Sega MegaDrive games and etc. Not many left (if any) so unsure if I will ever find anything like it! Something like the below maybe?
Updated the collection pictures somewhat just on the NES, SNES & N64... hasn't grown much, but it has grown somewhat. Didn't bother taking photos of the loose cartridge etc. I have taken some titles out to replace some pieces - Yoshi's Safari, Top Gear, Kirby's Dream Course etc...
Lovely stuff!! I've always wondered - which systems had the Australian "G" logos on the games? And were they stickered or printed? My local Blockbuster store closed - it was a big store. Former car showroom. And the people who moved in listed the entire shelving on eBay for £100! They keep listing it and nobody bites. SOME of them:
Some have stickers being UK/EU imports, or games which never had a true Australian release. If they have their own Australian release, like first party games, they are printed on.
There were a lot of imported titles, Sega consoles especially up until Dreamcast from what I noticed. There will be SNES titles that have Australian ratings printed on them however, I've come across a heap though with rating stickers - even had at one point 2 copies of a game, one with the sticker on it and one with the rating printed. That's why I don't get stuck into the whole AUS/UK codes on boxes/manuals/cartridges. So long as it's PAL and in English - happy days!
Yeah, I agree. Bizarrely, those Aussie copies ended up over here in fair quantity, too! Maybe stickered over here, but never sent? Still, I might look into differences at some point, just for interest's sake. Ugh, it's taken 3 hours for my domain to be unbanned - darn host didn't tell me the ICANN info needed updating! The pic is finally working. And I notice they sold half the shelves but still want £100 for the other half - cheeky buggers! Maybe it's because they are now dismantled (the shop has been taken over).
Those shelves would be perfect (now that the picture finally loaded haha) - great size. I gotta find a video shop here dismantling...
