It's being reported that its been confirmed that sega's big anouncement will be them re entering the hardware buissness. The story is being ran here http://www.freewebs.com/realgamesplayer/insiderscoops.htm not sure if it is bogus, but it does support some good points to support this is true, im going to hold off judgement, but i hope its true, sega was always its best when it had hardware to support then as a 3rd part developer.

SHWIIIING! I won't believe it until I hear it, but that will be exciting if it's true.

Um. Yeh sure. I guess this website is jumping the gun too soon and starting to make stuff up. Reps wont talk to lowly sites like this one. They will go to major ones like IGN, gamespot etc.

Then again, I hope that what they say is true. Being a publisher has been great for sega to get out of debt and if they fail again then they can go back to being a publisher lol.

Yeah, I won't believe it until I see it.

That's a free website that somebody threw together in like 10 seconds. I'm thinking its a flat out lie.

On another note...I don't think anybody wants a new piece of Sega Hardware as much as I do. I miss my Sega Arcade games on sega consoles so much....I've been playing the hell out of Virtua Fighter 2 lately...

But we'll see in...9 days is it now?

I can't remember ever being so pumped for a game show. Last thing I got pumped about was the specualtion about the gamecube controller...which is pretty tame, compared to two new handhelds, and some sort of mind blowing announcement from SEGA.

    Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! Hail Sega :prayer:

But again freesite and sega doesn't talk about things before they come, also who cares about the color?! ;-) Site only seems to exist for a few days.

I think it's the "Zach Morris" thing throwing me off. Almost enough to give me "Saved By The Bell" flashbacks.

    Eeesh.

Would be nice, but I'd like to see this on a more credible source.

I will believe it when Its on a reliable site.
I mean that site is not really the place Sega would announce their return to the hardware business.
Either the webmaster is full of shit or a he/she is a gulliable little kid who has been fooled by someone(a fake e-mail from rep@sega.com or something).

They look like someones fake images to me.

  12. Oooh! Oooh! I know what they are!! They're boxes, right? :smt040

I'm not sure what to make of those, but here's the page from which those pictures were taken: http://www.egchina.com/gamenews/gamefront/industry/20040505/015035.asp
It appears to be some Chinese gaming site or something, but unfortunately, BabelFish's Chinese->English translation is even worse than its Japanese->English, so I was unable to make even the slightest sense of the blurb - it mentioned Sega's mysterious announcement at E3, and that's it. Any Chinese readers or people with better translation programs here?

Well, once again, I hate to be unoptimistic...but I swear....that fist picture looks like it was made using some 3D rendering software.

I have to admit I'm trying to keep my hopes down until the official announcement, but when I saw the pictures above, with the huge Sega logo and the "The beast returns" slogan, my heart started to pound :smt103 . But I know they're probably mock-ups :smt011

    map?

looks like a UT / Quake map to me. :snipe:

  18. Hmmm, I dunno. I'm not arguing against these pictures being faked, but they almost don't look like 3d renders to me - there's something about some of the shadow stuff that would take a LONG time to work out, like how the shadows exist between the tiny spaces of the stacks of SDG boxes. Then again, it could be 3d, as I can't find any other explanation for the lack of ANY other details in the room, but that probably took a helluva long time to render all the light sources and soft shadows out.

The second picture...with just the boxes looks believable...but the other one doesn't look right. The light looks flat out weird...and thats one clean ass floor.
