Ironically I have come down with the flu, not the swine variety but the flu none the less. I would recommend: Stock up on flu meds that are a combo acetaminophen 1000MG, Pseudephedrine 60MG, dextromorphan (varies) Keep some fresh garlic, take two cloves a day Ecannasia, take several a day Airborn / Viatamin C booster Lots of green tea Sinus cleanse (saline) Ephrine drops (shuts off mucous membranes) So far, it's been a short three days and I feel better already thanks to the active treatment I am taking. Cold sweats suck the most, last night I thought I'd pissed the bed, I sweated so much.
Get well soon and keep the fluid intake up. You'll be surprised at how much goes in and how little comes out!
Wow man, glad to hear it's not of the swine variety. Some people just get sick every season like clockwork, I feel for ya. Get plenty of fresh air.
Get well soon! What are the exact symptoms of your flu? Btw cold sweats indicate that the fever drops (if any).
I tried that when I had tonsillitis recently. In fact, I had four, in fairly rapid succession. Made me feel better... for a while. Then I just had tonsillitis and a mild hangover.
take your meds kev and you'll be on the clear. ps.I think it may have been few years since I had a cold not even flu(and I run marathons two hours a day, everyday), it maybe my immune system
Man, that really sucks, hope you get well soon :icon_bigg In fact I tried that some weeks ago when I got ill, I don't know if was because of that or the tea with insane amounts of honey and lemon but I got well in a day or two...
The irony regarding this (and similar epidemics) is that having a strong immune system seems to one of the contributing factors to the higher number of young, fit people who pass away! I realise Kev hasn't got the Mexican variety of flu, but none the less. As in the case of the 1918 flu pandemic it was the same thing. Younger, fitter people who tended to die. They attribute this to the immune system over reacting and actually killing the sufferer. So, anyway, lots of Lemsips, rest, fluids and the like!
I've had some medium-strength coughy/phlegmy/crappy thing for the past week. Been getting by with water and robutussin. I know I should probably try harder, as I'd be well by now if I had. Good to see you're putting up the effort, should kick that virus out in no time.
I guess that's why my family used it. English/Irish immigrants at some point down the line. I think it had more to do w/ them living on a farm than anything.
I think some of this was down to having an experienced immune system - older folks, though less likely to be in their prime, had probably already been through a related viral strain in the past & so their immune systems were better able to target the latest strain. Being sick can be good for you!
