Perhaps true in some instances, however it was noted in the 1918 outbreaks that those who are normally more susceptible to dying from the flu (young children, the infirm and the elderly) actually survived in greater numbers than those considered young and fit. Particularly disturbing at the time as many of these men and women has survived WW1 only to succumb to the flu. Strange phenomenon that my un-scientific (I know so little about virology) finds interesting.
Sir, I hope you get better soon. Take lots of vitamin C and sleep warm. Also: The traditional mexican anti-flu remedy involves very hot cinnamon tea with Tequila and Honey, right before going to sleep. That will make you sweat a lot and will help you feel better. My dad used to give me this a lot when I was a kid - only in my house we use Brandy instead of Tequila. Do they make aspirin with Caffeine up there in the States? Take two with this remedy and it will make it even better.
Crap, that sucks, I got scared when I read "sick with flu", immediately thought of the swine flu (maybe because of the constant media bombing). Hope you get well soon!!
I usually take two Pinex (*********** is the ingredient) in the morning and two in the evening and in a matter of days I am up and running full on afterwards. The worst flu I have ever had was one where I was sick for a full week, and perhaps it was partly a stress related flu too. So there I ate two Pinex in the morning and two in the evening, and I swear if it hadn´t been for those pills. I would have had an insane fever. Perhaps I am hardcore in such cases, but anyway get well soon ASSEMbler
The Coachella Music Festival kicked my ass a week and a half ago and I'm still somewhat ill. I doubt I got swine flu, but there were a lot of people from around the world there... so who knows? Lots of rest, vitamins and it still took forever to get mostly better.
