Does this happen? And if it does, can it be stopped? A tame but opinionated post of mine may have been deleted, but since there are no records I have no way of knowing for sure whether it was deleted or just didn't go through. Deleted posts should have at least public marker with explanation of why the post was deleted by a moderator. Ninja moderating isn't moderating.
It used to happen from time to time, but Kev introduced new policies on this a while back after a few complaints. I'll be honest, I've not really noticed any - seen a few I'd have willingly hit delete on, especially some of my very early NooB posts lol I loved the idea of 'Ninja Mod' though - nice image!
Please tell me more, we don't allow deletion of comments unless it is about an item for sale that interferes with the seller. Kevin
This was my second post in Taucias' Street Fighter II HD thread, and at worst it was again critical of the game and it's praisers. I may have said that it looks like "white-guy" anime, but that shouldn't be cause for deletion.
It could just be a fault with the board. I myself I posted stuff before in the "Post every time you buy something" thread only to back to it and have the post missing. As far as I know nobody is doing "Ninja" moding unless they are true ninjas who can keep it a secret from all  Yakumo
I made a post in a spam bot thread and now its gone! What the hell!:crying: Just kidding. My posts could have gotten deleted, but I probably wouldn't notice, and I honestly don't care about my post count. I thought a few weeks ago that some of my posts weren't showing up but it was my mind playing tricks I guess.
i think i never deleted without notice. i DID change some posts from wolverine DK and someone else that might have led to bannings but not anything else
I recall some non-postings too..I cant recall exactly what i posted about, but Im sure it wasnt anything too bad / illegal - I got deleted a few times because of some illegal stuff I wrote about, that's true, but since that i never did it again and still some posts kept disappearing...board bug?
I started a thread about some Saturn items from ALG I just found. Thread was there for little more then an hour but is now completely gone.
Ooops, found it. It got moved to marketplace and delete It wasn't intended to be a sales post. I'll rephrase and repost.
Just did a test the board does seem to keep a record from what i can see of hard deleted posts. (If we do delete anything 99% of the time its only soft deleted and can be undeleted.) Some rare occasions things are hard deleted but normally its a mistake EDIT: Im going blind or the board dint update fast enough. It does infact keep a log and before i played with the thread there was no other moderator action in there. So it wasnt one of us. 01:49, 25th Mar 2008 Paulo Closed Thread 01:49, 25th Mar 2008 Paulo Opened Thread 01:49, 25th Mar 2008 Paulo Thread Soft Deleted 01:49, 25th Mar 2008 Paulo Thread Undeleted 01:49, 25th Mar 2008 Paulo Thread edited. I had a topic of mine go missing a few months back. Dont really remember what it was about but it wasent anythign bad or aginst rules.
For some reason i just wasted 10 mins of my time looking for that post only to find it was deleted because "Reason: piracy site help requests"...
no it wasnt that post. The one im talking about was in the marketplace. IIRC it was a WTB thread (MAYBE a sell thread) either way I remember remaking it and saying it got deleted the first time. In the repost I made a fuss about it and assembler himself even posted saying the tread was ok and there was no reason for deletion. I will see if I can find it.
Ok for some reason I cant edit my last post so here is the topic I am talking about. Didnt take nearly as long to find as I thought it would. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15763
Your second post in that thread... "In my first topic I didnt say anything about it and madhatter asked what it came preloaded with and I said anything he wanted. I didnt mean games but I guess I should have stated that better, I ment homebrew apps and dashboards and things like that." Maybe this is why it was deleted? edit: The reason on the tag is Piracy and it was because of this post you made. "I bought the unit at a yard sale about a year and a half ago. The case is a little dirty from being on my closet shelf but it works great except for that dvd drive thats quite picky anymore. When I got it, it had a hard time reading some games but I was able to use splenter cell to softmod it no problem and after that I just ran games off the HDD. Its not had much use since I have owned it. Its my 3rd unit (my first is for ISO's, second is for emulators) I would say less then 40 hours since I have had it. I can preload whatever you want on the HDD just let me know, I will also do all the work and test it out for you before you have to pay for it. Let me know and thanks!"
yeah I know it may have been a justified deletion but the reason I said anything about it that I was never told WHY it was deleted. I didnt mean roms as I said in the repost and if someone had pmed me or posted in the topic I would have edited it accordingly.
As far as i can see you should be able to see your deleted post and the reason on the right. If we pmed every single person that broke a rule and then waited for them to change it then we might as well not hve the rules. It would made moderation of the marketplace 3 times harder and mean that sales would be made that did not follow the rules.
Yeah that would be better. Or just delete the content of the post and then put the reason there so the next time the person checks it. I spent almost a hour looking through the forums for that one deleted post of mine before I gave up and assumed it was removed.
