PS2 Test Build 17.05.2006 (Climax LA version)
Unfortunately this build contains practically nothing but a test menu (only Start can be selected) and an untextured room with a background music track playing. There are no means to move around and I cannot activate any debug menu on either controller ports. Perhaps the music track is previously unreleased?

Build Comparison 08.02.2007 Alpha 2 vs. Retail
There are two known alpha builds from 08.02.2007. They are virtually identical save for three added music tracks and about 150kb of data on the archive file on Alpha 2. This is a comparison of each room/section of Alpha 2 vs. the Retail version.

Thank you so much for sharing! SH Origins is definitely my favourite silent hill game. Lets hope we see build of early prototype come into light someday, that game looked so different compared to final product.

I'm working on the original Origins video, Origin's Origin if you will. These builds look like the same ones I have for the UK build, they are pretty neat.

Yeah there is a bit to find out if I invest my time. On the first of my alphas (build is from 4 hours earlier than the one in the videos) there is one unreleased music track. I am a huuuge fan of Akira Yamaoka so that is a big deal to me. I haven't compared the music from Alpha 2 yet. Apart from the music the SH.ARC is only 117kb bigger, so not much different.

When I'm done digging through these alphas I'll see what I can get out of the 2006 PS2 build.

It won't be much on the ps2, especially with it gray boxed. The final version wasn't much anyway for that series of builds. I think I have the complete soundtrack for the early bits.

PPSSPP screws up lighting in this game so that is a but off putting. I might re-record using a PSP Test tool. Haven't prioritized this project just yet because of time constraints but I'll get back to it eventually. I did however test a PS2 Test Build yesterday on proper hardware. There is basically nothing in the build save for perhaps an unreleased music track. Added it to the first comment in the post.
