Very cool, it also looks like kinda complete, was it meant to be a test or they were planning to release it for real? I wonder if there is any relation to that Tech Demo that Climax made with Travis being the playable chracter for X360/PS3
No relation to that. I have some partial files for that, but not the whole thing. Likely have it somewhere, just havent stumbled upon it yet. Know quite a bit about that though, have a folder on my desktop with some documents. Just holding off until I find a build... Its nowhere near complete really. Just a WIP demo to show that they could do it. Whats there works fairly well though, which was nice to see.
About the original plan to Silent Hill Origins, was that version really different? I tought that it was mostly changed on the camera views and some areas being reworked on.
Very interesting, kinda odd that they were looking into developing it for Microsoft's next gen system but chose to port it to the PS2 instead of PS3. Any idea why?
Probably it was either planned to be a download title or just a test of what they could do with the engine, and since the game was being made with the PSP in mind, there was no reason to release on PS3 and exclude the PS2. Also, it wasn't a good idea to simply port it and release as an retail title as people would expect better graphics.
Simple answer is contracts. They got a contract for the ps2 version after the psp, didnt get one for 360, which would have been more time but doable really.

Ah, stupid background music. Uploading it to my site shortly. Edit: Up: http://ptoponline.com/?p=1964&preview_id=1964
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I'm excited to see what else you're able to find. I always wanted to play the early version of Origins.
I have pretty much anything you could ever wish for I'm covering the early version, too much even to where I'm missing things right now hah.
I'll look forward to your coverage then. I had no idea they were working on a 360 port, so I'm sure there's other nifty things lying somewhere.
