Revealed in a demo currently on the PS4 store called P.T. Annoyingly this video has commentary over it, i haven't found one without it yet.
Looks similar to the Silent Hill 4 apartment, I hope the first person mode isn't forced on you the outside of the apartment.
Tried to look for a trailer without that annoying loud bitch screaming on the background, I swear is as nerve-wrecking as that brofist(up his ass) idiot. The worst part is that he's probably going to make a boatload o' money from creepypasta videos once this is released
The teaser has nothing to do with the game itself, the reason it's in first person was not to spoil the character you are playing until the end of the teaser.
It's a shame, I liked it. First person horror has more of a psychological effect, I was impressed by what they had creeted here.
I seriously thought it was a fake when I first saw it. Interesting but I can't imagine a Silent Hill with Norman Reedus, wonder how that will turn out.
Why there's a S to it. The franchise is called Silent Hill... The graphics are beautiful but tv show stars on it just kills the game mood. This way they don't create a character they just copy Norman Reedus acting and face. If this game follows Hideo Kojima way of doing games, this will mean: 2 hours of gameplay and 10 hours of cut scenes. Silent Hill will always be a trilogy.
the first 3 games were indeed true to the original game style. i did like silent hill 4 the room, it was very creepy at least. origins was pretty good, origins and homecoming were more like the original games than the room. downpour could have been a good game but it just seemed to be more repetitive than an average silent hill game and when i beat it was was left thinking was that it? oh and shattered memories, i played it because it was a silent hill game and i wanted to beat them all. i beat it but didn't enjoy it, the atmosphere was creepy but the style of gameplay was no fun. i would say shattered memories is the true black sheep of the silent hill family, at least you could beat on hideous creature and ghosts in the room.
I've downloaded and played the entire demo. Some puzzles are random to say the least. The graphics are awesome. tons of effects that I've never seen before on a horror game. If they pull out a great story and a great soundtrack this game might survive the SH hype. It's a good demo and it's free. Still.. Kojima and Silent Hill doesn't seem to fit together.
It's not a demo, technically. It's an interactive trailer. With that, they deliberately built it in such a way so that you would feel scared to build hype. I'm doubting the actual game will be like this. And if it is, that would be fine because then I wouldn't have to see Norman Reedus and feel like I'm playing as Daryl in Silent Hill. Cause that is just no good. I'm okay if the random cutscenes transferred to 3rd person view for him to act and then goes back to first person for the actual game. It would be amazing because Silent Hill would work with first person.
The only series of games that I love that hasn't been killed off yet seems to be Half-life... Sad days. Not that this is what tipped me off, as SH after 3 seemed to be dying, but this looks to be the point of no return. Real actors in the star role of our favorite of games may excite some people, but I think it just takes that much more away from the experience. Here's hoping this can rise above, but I have little hope. Not judging a game by its teaser, I'm judging the trailer/demo that teases the game.
If by "this" you mean "P.T.", then yes, at least for the time being. As for the main game, no platforms have been announced.
