Make a poll. I doubt you even get 25 people to want irc.

Also we should have a lil pop up or some notification that we have a new Pm! Otherwise the replies are lame, surely not too much to ask.

Yeah kinda small but popups for PMs would be nice. I can recall a time I went for over a week before realizing I had a PM in my inbox that was sitting unnoticed. The 1 sitting in the corner up there just went right by me.

Yeah I hear that sister! it's the lil things! An Edit option for polls would be neat also but maybe that's just nitpicking!

Side-note: I assume the new site banner is a joke? If so, it was funny for the first week or so, but I think it's time to move on. I'd be happy to help design a new one, if you need help.

I thought this site had a pop up when we got a new PM. In fact it does or at least I get one.

I get the pop-up, too. Standard vBulletin. It comes up and says YOU HAVE A NEW MESSAGE, and I have to click OK. Then, it asks if I want to open it in a new window.

How about some kind of script (maybe there's a mod for it already) that stops people double posting in the same thread? There's an edit button, people - use it!! ;)

There is a script that automatically merges your second post in a row into the previous message. It also marks the thread as unread for people who had already read it before your second (now merged) post.

This fixes the issue. Editing posts isnt always good - no one sees your edit, as the thread stays marked as read. Install the mod and all is well.

That actually sounds like a really good idea! I was thinking more along the line of those who decide 5 minutes later to add something and just post again (and it's unlikely anyone's read the first post)... but it's still annoying when it happens even some hours or days later.... so that's a nice solution!

Do you have a link for it?

The choice of different background colors? I know you're trying to go with Blue for Sonic (Assumed because of homepage) so why not have an option like orange for Tails, Red for Knuckles? something like that would be kind of cool.

I agree with the "Dev-Team" proposition, this site definitely needs a "Forum Operators Team", those would upgrade the forum, make the mobile devices version, alter CSS, modify rank's images width, solve individual problems with the personal message system, etc.

About the flash games, I don't think this site is made for online-gaming, this is a community, I mean, there's plenty of online-flash-gaming sites out there, plus the amount of bandwidth GB that those games would take would make this feature very expensive.

Hmm... it says not required for 4.2.x onwards, and we're running 4.2.0, so I guess it's just something that's never been activated!

Go on, Kev... you know you wanna! That would save a fair bit of moderation... although Legit would be sad lol.

    *EDIT*

    RULES CLARIFICATIONS

Think I've mentioned this one before, but briefly....

-The rules forum doesn't contain all the rules (e.g. Marketplace rules are in there as moved, but there's no link to WTB rules) - could we have ALL the rules either in there or linked, please?

    - The WTB section states in its subtitle:

However, there's nothing in the WTB rules about stating your country (or updating your profile field for country, at least). On quite a few occasions, I've had to ask the OPs for clarification on that. Sometimes, we may not want to ship an arcade machine to the US from England! Or indeed, the OP may want US games, so there's no point us offering our PAL versions. Perhaps stating region for the items should be necessary, too?

Enable us to use spoilers. They're basically buttons that contain text. They're used on the Cave Story Tribute Site Forums to hide important plot elements in the game(hence spoiler). But they can also be used to hide large chunks of text to keep the posts small and not take up the whole screen. That's my suggestion, anyway.

EDIT: they can also be used to hide large images

Tapatalk compatibility is top of my list. I spend quite a lot more of my time on mobile devices now I've switched out my laptop for a desktop.

Oh and can we make the "register now" characters that pop up (Tifa, Master Chief etc) a bit smaller or at the very least away from the log in boxes. If I'm logging in on a mobile device they always seem to catch my touches. Takes about 10 tries to log in.
