Hi all, New to the forum and just wanting to say hi to everyone and can't wait to talk with everyone, seems so nice here. I just had a question anyone else here suffers from sleep deprivation? I take some narcotics to burn out after a few days to sleep. What do you guys do if any of you suffer from this?
I try to live as much as I can without any unecessary drugs - things like asprin, pain relievers, cough syrup, spleeping pills, etc. Natural sleep is always healthier for you. Get some exercise during the day, don't watch TV or play games right before you go to sleep, and try to get to bed at roughly the same time every night. Good luck
Hmm... is this allowable discussion? Suffering from chronic insomnia myself, I'd say I'm pretty well versed in the world of the perpetual night party. 94 hours was the longest run (sober). After trying every prescription sleeping pill available on the market, some not, I've come to a few basic conclusions. Exercise, it doesn't matter what you think, you have to do it. Hypnotics, they're probably your best bet if you're "burned out". I alternate between Ambien and Lunesta every month. Even they aren't enough, I take them in conjunction with an anti-psychotic. Seroquel. Alcohol, I don't recommend it, as its a very expensive and unhealthy solution. But works - sort of. Sleep sucks. Might as well just give up. :banghead: Some other interesting things, which I don't know if you've explored, SSRI-antidepressants. If you feel so inclined to try, they work decently to turn you "normal" (ie, you get tired at night, and don't mind sleeping). Pretty sure this is the wrong type of forum for this though... EDIT: I agree with Hawanja
I can't take that stuff, I took it with coke zero and for whatever reason my TV started to attack me. Real Talk
Wow, I seriously wouldn't take it then.. That's some side effect, good thing it hasn't affected me like that.
Yea, Ambien affects people weird.. my grandma takes it and one time the sprinkler cover thing in her front yard turned into an anaconda and tried to attack her... crazy stuff
I would honestly suggest what other people have. Try not watch tv/use the computer right before bed. Try & get to be at a consistent time. Maybe try taking a shower right before you're heading to bed  That seems to work for me. Good luck
Whoa, now I want some Ambien. For all reasons. But anyway. I haven't seen the sun since Sunday (no pun...) morning. Here's my problem. I'll get home from, say, band practice or something, around 11:00 or so. and I'm TIRED. So I undress, get ready for bed, go to sleep. Easy. I dream a lot. I wake up feeling refreshed and ready. The only problem, is that I only get 3-4 hours of sleep when this happens. And when I awaken, I'm AWAKE. Then other nights, I'll force myself to go to sleep (sit in bed and start an episode of Top Gear, usually, and pass out some time before the end) and if left unattended, I will sleep for 10-12 straight hours. WTF? This shit really makes going to school and work.... interesting (didn't want to say difficult).
I do, and I am on treatment with Clonazepam.... 2 miligrams about 3 hours before I want to fall asleep. But you should see a doctror about this one
I have no sleep probs. after 13h+ working hours a day, you just want to jump into your sheet and..do the zzZ!! altough I have hardly more than 6h sleep a night.
I basically do not sleep anymore. I visit the doctor for help in this area and they just tell me to exercise and change my diet... A guy can only exercise so much in a day! I think they're paranoid about prescribing anything for some reason. I think it's time to see a new doctor while I am still awake enough to drive myself into the office.
I sleep like a baby every night.. tho I am a workaholic and I work out every day so I guess it evens out in the end :110: welcome to the site..
Ambien is for fun (if you like having delusions/hallucinations), not sleeping. I've also read reports stating that you'll never achieve REM sleep by taking it. Work out in the afternoon, read a book, and masturbate before you go to bed. Avoid electronics after a certain hour. Opiates help me sleep but it's not exactly something a doctor would be willing to prescribe you for insomnia. I'd also say weed, but only indica, and I've seen reports of it robbing you of REM sleep as well. It helps me sleep, but if I smoke too much I feel groggy the next morning.
