I posted in the 360 forum lol.

It appears to have 2 sata ports among other things.

I can't see how it would fit an internal dvd drive and hdd, even if it were a slot loading dvd drive and a 2.5".

There doesn't look like there is enough room.

Also the fan pointing upwards, while it works for computers will ample space, a console would look horrid with an exhaust on the top.

Wow. No doubt its an xbox, also I doubt its fake, we have seen earlier pictures of the motherboard with after market fans before.

like this old picture that leaked long before we ever saw the original design of the outside of the box.
heh... just realized the fans pictured above are coolmaster too. Just sayin...

    1) Any 360 will need two SATA ports. One for the DVD and another for the external hard drive.

    2) Rumor around the campfire that I keep hearing is that the next revision of Xbox 360 will launch this fall in a Natal bundle. Basically you'll see the Natal upgrade package and the new 360+Natal bundle on store shelves side by side as far as hardware is concerned.

Assuming nothing changes between now and then, once Natal launches, you won't be able to buy an Elite bundle without the Natal hardware.

This could be cool. Especially if it comes with a 250GB or more HDD.

Strange how it appears to have sidecar esque ports on the board, also the current and prior revisions didnt have a sata port for the HDD they used, ms's proprietory connection.

It also looks like it has a dedicated digital optical out, strange considering microsoft try and peddle their HDMI cable with optic out.

It also looks like it is designed to lay flat judging by the position of what would be the USB ports, if it does in fact have a optical drive then i guess this would be an answer to the xbox making circles on disc?

Could this be, and this is wild speculation, more of a DVR/zune marketplace type device ala apple iplayer?

I see they learned their lesson. This time the CPU+GPU chip has a heat spreader.

I shall welcome "Valhalla" (It's how they were calling this when it was on development, right ?) by buying a unit when it releases.

    XBOX 360 redisign?

Apparently Microsoft is working on a redesigned XBOX

I only hope that this revision of the motherboard doesn't fail as much as the early ones.

If the slim 360 would be free from any RRoD desease that'd finally be a worthwhile ticket to the world of Japanese 360 shooter ports.

I swear I saw this photo years ago. On the other hand there has been rumors of a smaller X360 for years.

    Dunno, deja vú I think...

Makes perfect sense, MS is taking notes from Nintendo, which had a working wiimote during the GC years but decided to launch it as part of the Wii instead of a new accesory like Sony's doing.

Measuring a crystal as a reference of .5", the board looks about 7.5" wide. That leaves about 4" for the DVD drive. Considering a CD is about 4.75", there isn't enough room, unless it's either top loading or a compact laptop type drive and the CD overhangs the heatsink / fan which looks low profile enough for that to work.

That's all assuming they're trying to fit this in a square case. The actual case could be wide enough that the DVD drive extends past the left side of the board. That would explain the absence of a HD connector since they would need to attach one to the side of the case if that's where it's going, and use a cable to reach over to the second SATA port.

The design looks so ghetto vs. the slim PS3 motherboard. I'm not sure this is for real.
