What about the DVD drive and HDD sitting perpendicular to the board at each side, with the remaining space on top for cooling?
might it be possible that the natal will be included in the case as 1 unit? I think this was rumored at one point
About time. I bought a 360 in 2005 and every time I turn it on I get paranoid it will RROD, I hope everything's ironed out with a slimmer model so I can finally get to playing all the games I want. I also hope they keep with the overall design lines of the original, maybe even use better materials for the case
The last version of the 360 is pretty rock solid so anyone with doubs shouldn't have these days. My Elite bought last November is on EVERY day running videos and game without a single error. I'm not sure the 360 needs a slim version. The machine isn't that big really and quite nice to look at unlike the original heap of crap design that was the XBOX. yakumo
The button near the bottom middle of the board is labelled POWER. DVD EJECT is directly to the right, but the button isn't fitted. No sync button? The three holes with the exposed copper look as though the DVD might be screwed to the board from below. Any ideas as to what the two shielded connectors to the left of the Foxconn LAN are?
MS got your letter man: they're making the case with pubes from virgins pressed together to form a carbon fibre-like finish. The bad news: they're using guys pubes, asian dudes mostly...
Current 360 design has always been uninspiring imo. Any ideas whether this new unit, as per that leaked photo, would be able to support the current style of hard drives? So owners of current gen xbox could plug their existing hard drive units into the new one?
Looks like the top of the image is the front of the console appears to be two memory card slots stacked, IR, and some USB ports. Possibly the ring of light will be joined to the mainboard. Looks legit to me. Can't wait. EDIT: Now that I think about it I don't know what's going on: why so many inputs on one side, and so few on the other? :\ EDIT 2:h Ben heck knows all
It probably wont even have any memory card slots, as it appears Microsoft plans to add support for standard USB mass storage devices/memory sticks up to 16GB in a future dashboard update:- http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/xbox-360-gaining-usb-storage-support-in-2010-update/
I hope the mofos at MS include Wifi right out of the box this time, PS3 has had it since forever and so has the Wii =@
One thing that gets me is it seems to lack a HDMI port stacked on top of the A/V port. If they moved the hard drive internally it just seems it would be hell for current owners who want to upgrade.
The obvious answer is that people with exisiting hdd with be able to transfer everything to the internal drive through usb. This is how it is done when you buy a 120 to swap your 20 out or whatever. This way your original box keeps a hdd and so does your "slim".
I'm pretty sure this is just a micro PC motherboard. One of the 'not sure' is the sound connectors. Why would they add a TOS link on there? Extra SATA port? It's a photoshop fake IMO.
I work with computer hardware, and this is nothing like any micro ATX board I've ever seen, or any computer hardware for that matter. There's no doubt in my mind that it's legit, no one in their right mind would put that much effort into a fake, and in such specific detail.
Well for my part I hope that we won't have to transfert everything through USB. Maybe we could plug the current HDDs using an USB cable and use it as an external 360 HD drive?
