maybe when I was a kid I smashed the cartridge against the wall. WonderBoy on the Master System was a right fucker. I did finish the game which is really something when you're 12 but the amount of times I ripped out the cartridge and threw it against the wall is amazing.

Strange thing is that once I got my Mega Drive I never did get angry enough to throw something. I did swear a lot and still do mind you. My latest pet hate are the twats on Forza 3 online games. Why oh why do they think a racing game is about ramming the shit out of the other cars. man, I hate these pricks. Just because they're so piss poor at driving games they have to ruin it for others. The amount of neg' feedback I've given Forza 3 players is amazing.

I also broke my original PS1 pad while playing hardcore Ridge Racer vs Devil Car, but not from throwing it, just holding it tight in my hands (that's what she said). Fun times. It was the sheer concentration that did it. That game used to put me in a zone I have never since experienced.

Oh man the memories, I would always go into a trance with that hardcore music playing on the background.
Devil car did frustrate the shit out of me tho.

Oh Gawd, Dracula on DX Snes Was horrible. I hated that SOOO much. I remember getting very angry:DOH:

Recently though Metal Gear Online (a game I very much love with a passion) Has gotten me in many bouts of RAGE and Disappointment, because of the Shitfucks that ruin the game by cheating.

Or making up Stupid made up rules for gametypes(Like"NO RUSH,MAGS, NADES , EX, SLIT" "Hunt/Sneak only") or using random Special characters that fuck up the balance of the game.
(Which made up rules also do)

Don't even get started on Survival and Tournaments, in the North American servers the only way you will win a lot is by getting lucky and not facing people who Glitch/Lagswitch.

(which like 80% of players beyond level 12 Do in official gametypes do)

Then there is the games very flawed Animation system which causes characters to Warp from place to place (When hit by grenades a Warp from where they landed to about a 10 foot radius is guarantee'd every single time)or even not do certain actions at all where people can shoot you but no bullets are coming from their gun or they are looking one direction but their legs are backwards.

Also Cqc lag and all kinds of other crap that pisses me off about the game when you are playing and you know how to play but the game screws you up or someone causes it to. MEH!

I almost started throwing shit at TV on my first playthrough in NiGHTS into Dreams, in the Jackle boss stage, I had failed that stage a lot of times, I was about to go insane, but in the end I could beat him. I was so happy about it that I started swearing at the TV using all my lung capacity, it was a great day for me.

I know the feeling all too well, god it's like people don't have common descency when it comes to online racing in Forza 3. If people are faster then you are or take the corner faster/better infront of you, you do not just full throttle ram into their side/rear to spin them out of the way. I've given more bad feedback in forza 3 in 5 months then i have in halo 3 in over 2.5 years.

The last game that truly made me want to throw a controller was New Super Mario Bros Wii.
Yes, it's 2D and similar to SMW (I get that), but the feel of the jumps feels off to me. Go play SMB3 on the Virtual Console and then NSMB and you'll see what I mean. It's like Mario gained a few hundred pounds, resulting in a slightly off jump mechanic.

Same reason I simply cannot play GT5:p online. I just scream for an hour and then people knock on my door and tell me to stop.

I've thrown controllers, but generally nowadays I just go "GRAHAHK!!" and then twist them in my hands to get my physical venting done. Luckily I'm pretty weak, though I have broken one controller before doing that. And THEN I was subsequently pissed enough to throw it.

I was playing Samurai Spirits the other day (NGCD) and the last boss made me just about shit my pants with anger.
Then BlazBlue I got the SHIT combo'd out of me by that final boss. I had to contain myself to not break my HRAP... One complaint about the PS3 is that you can't get any satisfaction out of turning it off, you have to stand up and gently hold the power icon for a few seconds. Most old systems you get to go BAM and flick the power switch off.

So many games are RUINED for me because they're supposedly amazing but then the mechanics don't feel as perfect as a predecessor game. And then I look like a clot getting pissed at a damn Wii game while my friends kick my ass. I await the day I make them do a time trial run of SMW, then we'll see who is boss.

The worst I've ever done was crushing a Playstation controller with my hands after losing a bunch of memory card data. Even though I cracked it open pretty good it still functioned aside from the buttons no longer having any spring. Losing my Final Fantasy: Tatics saves were probably what sent me over the edge.

Besides that little incident, whenever I did get really mad at a game I usually took it out on something else besides the game/system, like slamming my fist on the floor. I didn't grow up with alot and most of what I had was paid for by myself doing things like mowing lawns, which gave me more respect for the things I did own as a child.

It seems like losing save data is what usually annoyed me the most. Difficulty never really got me as pissed as losing saves. Lost my data on Chrono Trigger due to jiggling the cart with the power turned on, which wiped all my New Game+ data out, which I was using to view all the alternate endings. Lost data on Shining Force II right at the very last battle when a power surge wiped out the memory. Lost my saves from Zelda: A Link to the Past right towards the end of the game when I loaned it to a friend who's younger siblings saved over all my saves.

threw a 360 controller. i can't really remember why, but i must've been pissed because it's the only time something like that has happened.

The 360 controllers are actually quite durable. Surprisingly so. Usually the battery pack just pops off.

Least durable controller IMO was the SNES controller. The L and R triggers would be the first buttons to cease functioning if you slammed or threw the controller in frustration (Street Fighter II comes to mind). Upon closer inspection, it's easy to see why. The L and R trigger contact switches are mounted on some rather flimsy mini-pcb's, which themselves are connected to the main controller board via 2 poorly soldered wires. Pure garbage.

I thought the SNES controller was quite robust considering it's shape, which has all that empty space in the center. They always survived my abuse.
The main thing is that if the controller is light enough, it won't have enough inertia to do much damage to itself (especially after the cord weighs it down). Of course, this assumes it is thrown a distance as opposed to directly into the floor.

Strange that you say they're quite durable, because out of all the controllers I've ever owned with a rubber covering around the analog stick (namely PS1 and PS2, all of which I used quite a bit more than the 360) it's the only one that's ever had the rubber literally peel an wear away from the stick itself. It's to the point now where the rubber covering has almost completely come off and the stick itself is incredibly loose which causes it to slip and rotate all the time whenever I use it.
