I recently noticed my SNES Converter (Universal Adapter AD-29) does not seem to work anymore. I already have it since the mid 90's, and don't use it much anymore, but it has been going strong all these years actually. I tried to boot multiple games on multiple SNES systems, but I just get a black screen, no audio, no video (it works fine with my Pro Action Replay 3). So I tried to clean the contacts with a pencil erraser and a cotton swab with alcohol, but to no avail. I also checked all the traces with a multimeter and all seem to be fine (I don't see anything out of the ordinary). So anyone has any other tips? I guess what's left for me is to try to clean the cartridge slot, though by eye it seems to look fine. I have made some photos: http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/Shadow_Zero80/library/SNES mods/Universal Adaptor AD-29
Might be your chip that died there, it looks like it's some form of CIC emulator but could be wrong. If it is a CIC you can probably replace it with a modern one but not sure of the wiring, I'm sure someone with more knowledge can help.
