    So is there a replacement for the obsolete M27C801-100N1?
    Has anyone made something similar to this design?

    Most 5v eproms and flash are obsolete. But I wouldn't worry, most the chips we use around these parts are long out of production.

    Honestly, most of this stuff is so obsolete that I'm very surprised it's still available at all. Consider that it's been over 20 years since 5V memory was the mainstream design option. Even the PlayStation and N64 were basically 3.3V systems - the Saturn was mostly 5V, but even that used 3.3V for the SDRAM.
