KOF and fatal fury cannot be played competetivly seriously. Yes there are a few tournys. doesn't make it seroius. right now i could have a tournament for some other broke ass fighter, doesn't make it a seroius competetive fighter. SVC is HORRIBLE. infintes up the ass and the hit boxes are broken. Seriously, two inches away a shoryuken from ken can hit chun li. And GodOfHardcore, you liked World Heroes. I think your opinion is now null and void. I have the MVS cart for world heroes, and it's GARBAGE. WOW that game is crap. You said in another thread you just got into SNK, so your depth of knowledge goes only so far. Capcom > SNK Most KOF fans play not for the gameplay but for the Story and that is their biggest gripe with Capcom. They all have their merits, but Capcom wins in the end.

Still lots of people play games as they are fun rather then practicing them every moment of the day to become some super player. A walk around a good Japanese arcade and you'll see KOF 98 and Fatal Fury Special more then most other older fighters. Fatal Fury Special is probably the best of the Fatal Fury games, it's just that Jubei is broken so it's possible to perfect a round, apart from that it's a great little fighter. No I never said I just got into SNK I used to play World Heroes back in the day. It wasn't really until the last few years that I got a Dreamcast and PC that could do competent emulation that I really got to Sample SNK. I have a friend JR WHo I used to call Beaver Monkey when we were both 12. We're friends now BECAUSE OF World Heroes. Up Until about 1999 my only SNK Exposure was World Heroes, Samurai Shodown 1 and 2 and KOF 95 on PS1 plus all of Takara's shitty SNES ports. The Arcades near me only wanted to Stock Mortal Kombat so SNK was shoved aside and I never saw SF III in the wild it wasn't until 2005 when I went to TGA that I saw my first SF 3 Cab and it was in a shitty Candy too. When I got my dreamcast in 2000 that all changed and 2 years later Neo Rage X got me up to date on everything SNK. Shmups is what I'm generally new to but I caught up fast. Ok I have the XBOX SVC Chaos and I have seen it in the wild and Played all 3 versions, PS2, Arcade and XBOX. They fixed ALOT in the XBOX version including the annoucer which I don't like I prefer NO ESCAPU ot NO (dramatic Pause) Escape.
Give it some credit death match mode was unique and Mudman was VERY unique and where else will you see Joan of Arc fall in love with Gangis Kahn? Name 1 other game with a demon football player too.
I'm sorry you can have the most brilliant story and incredible characters but it's a GAME something meant to be PLAYED and if it isn't fun to play, it is a bad game. Also, I was talking about SVC Chaos but both games are terrible. Horribly horribly terrible.

Even SVC Chaos has it's merits. I laugh when a friend told me the game is balanced when I told him about all the infinites he brushed it off as Hidden characters don't count. as for Mai
I feel the same about a lot of games. Although, the last KoF I played was 99, and I like the way they play more then SF, though SF is still badass. I suck at both though. Plus, who can beat Mai?

NICE BUTT OLOL Mai fixes any broken combo system. It just doesn't matter. I played a newer KOF where she didn't bounce though. Pissed me the fuck off.
