she is censored in almost every US release

 

I remember her bouncing in all the pre 2000 ones, or is something else censored? When I played 2000 and up on MAME she wasn't bouncing, so maybe for the US the PS2/Xbox/Arcade ones were censored from then on?

 

Mai has her bouncy in SVC Chaos, 2002 and 2003 for XBOX.

 

You can turn the bouncy animation on and off in dip switches on the arcade machine. At least, that used to be the case in Neogeo games.

The home versions can be enabled on the Neogeo with custom firmware or some games had cheats IIRC.

 

Ok good. I was wondering why there was no bounce in those arcade ones. Thats a vital part of the game. I don't see why it's even out.

 

Was the blood censored too? If so then this is most likely the reason.

 

blood was censored and a special move on one of hte characters, i forget who, involves a gun. it is removed so projectile comes out of her hands...
