Well, I decided to use one of my gift cards to buy Lost Odyssey. Just hope they don't have issues with my debit card again.

I haven't played LO yet, but I think both games can't be compared since there completly different. ME is good but god I hate the combat. Some bad texture pop in too.

I actually finished Lost Odyssey tonight. Took me around 60 hours, but during this 60 hours I:
Accidentally ran into most of the secret bosses and proceeded to kill them.
Did a little bit of level grinding, just to be sure.

I know I said previously that the extra skills and what-not would break the game, but no, it just made it... mmm... a bit more doable. The final boss fight is hard. Very hard. You will need certain skills to pull through there I would say. And even with Kaim GROSSLY overpowered (he had like, 8000HP, the second highest was around 2700), the boss still put up a decent fight and wiped out everyone except Kaim a few times. And I imagine if it had used the Death spell on Kaim, well, I could've been screwed.

Fair warning though, leading up to the end, like, right before the bit leading into the final battle, the game goes crazy cheesy. Like, for a brief period of time, it gets really really bad. And its just in some cutscene. But, yeah, it was jarringly bad. Reminded me of why I started hating Sakaguchi back in the day, only, this time it wasn't spread out over an entire game, just like, maybe 10 minutes of sheer stupidity.

But other than THAT one moment, its all good. Final battle is a spectacle indeed. And the ending is perfect for the game really. I don't want to say anything, but it really fits with how the game rolls storywise.

All in all, a great experience. I'm sad its over. Really sad actually. I mean, there's a good deal of extra stuff to do and I'll be Achievement farming it for God knows how long, but still... the story has unfolded. Sadness. Now I have nothing to look forward to but Cry On and Blue Dragon 2, but I would oh so much rather have another Lost Odyssey on the horizon.

What I hope for in Lost Odyssey 2:
When we do in game cinematics, can we please not have it look like a PS2 game? And like, can we not have all the slowdown? That shit was ridiculous. I don't understand why the game itself looks GOOD but the in game cinematics look (and run) atrocious.

That was really my only complaint... for some reason the in-game cinematics, while well acted and for the most part competently written, just run bad and look bad.

That 2nd Boss battle the one with those 2 giant worms and the magic charging bugs.

Kaim and Seth are at LV 18.

    Jansen is LV 17.

Should I level Jansen up too?

    Nah, you should be fine.

I wasn't much higher then that myself if not lvl 15-16 and I took them down.

Just focus on killing two of the bugs then focus on the worm.

Yeah I beat them no problem I had Kaim and Seth Take care of the bugs and had Jansen beat the crap out of the whatever it was called.

Now I'm on that stupid stealth mission.

    Stuck? How? Where? What part?

Well... here's my best shots at where you might be stuck at:

If you're stuck where the pressure plates are, you have to step on the plate, step back, and run upstairs BEHIND the boulder as it passes you.

If you're stuck at the door, you have to go up the stairs that line up with it, grab the pillar with the green indicator, and move it to the side. Then run up and hit a pressure plate. This will cause a boulder to smash through the door.

Jansen is killing me with some of his lines.

    I'm on disc 2, now.

As for the forest, you'll want to be pretty thorough when you have to leave it. Some good stuff to be found.

For its first week Lost Odyssey sold 100,000 in the US:

Hopefully word of mouth keeps its sales going fairly strong. But its already outsold its Japanese release.

    That's a shame.

I echo everything you've said about this game so far. I thought it would be a dull by the numbers thing but instead ... it's a fresh take and polished.

Did they do a ltd edtion of it in Japan ala Blue Dragon ? It really seems like this is being swept under the rug PR wise.
