I want to say there was a Lost Odyssey package for the Xbox360, but I don't think it had a faceplate or anything like the Blue Dragon one did. Which is a shame. I would LOVE a Lost Odyssey faceplate. But yeah, 100K in its first week is definitely good for a JRPG that isn't called Final Fantasy. LO is already thrashing BD's US sales, so hopefully it does well enough for them to make another one one day. Right now though all we've got to look forward to is Cry On (which could be good... I mean, Manabu Kusunoki, the main art guy behind Panzer Dragoon, is going the art, but its being developed by Cavia (bleh!)) and apparently Sakaguchi is forsaking us and making some MMO. :-( Though Blue Dragon 2 is in the works as well, I assume Artoon is at work on that. So I would guess Feel Plus's next game will not be Lost Odyssey 2. Though Sakaguchi did say he intends to make BD and Lost Odyssey franchises.
all this talk about Lost Oddyssey makes me curious. Any demos on XBL jp.? by the way, everyone go watch EL TOPO, from 1970, amazing movie. make sure to have some drugs handy.
No, I think they chose to avoid a demo since the poor demo for Blue Dragon (the dungeon during a major plot point at the end of disc 2!? Please...) pretty much killed Blue Dragon's sales. Granted, Lost Odyssey is so damn good I imagine a good demo could've furthered its sales even more. I will say this man: If you like Final Fantasy VI, get Lost Odyssey. Don't question it, don't second guess it, if you like FFVI, then Lost Odyssey is a MUST.
I don't even Play RPGs and I consider this one of the best. It's almost on the level of Chrono Trigger.
Yeah the Blue Dragon one was a classic example of what not to do. A demo would help LO sales though, as I almost passed it by based on the videos I had seen.
THe Mountians you're in at the begining of the game would be great for a demo. from the time you arrive there until the first boss battle. that'd be perfect for a Demo.
Well, if you hate FF then chances are you probably won't like Lost Odyssey. Lost Odyssey is pretty much old school FF, only with one of the best stories to ever be in a JRPG.
am I the only one that thinks Cooke and uh that other kid is annoying? and why do I feel like if this was a movie Shia Lebeauf would be Jansen and Keneau Reeves would be Kaim........
Cooke and Mack have their moments. And they do serve a purpose. But Cooke's rambling is often a bit jarring. Kaim... well... Kaim is best served pissed off. 'Sall I'll say about that.
Kaim Reminds me of Shadow..yes the Hedgehog Shadow. Both slowly recall their past both have a raspy voice both have romantic interests from the past (at least Kaim keeps it with his species anyway) Both are border line Emo....
Well, I figured I would give a update. Had the game for about a week, currently on Disc 2 with about 9 hours and 30 minutes put into the game with none of the sidequests done. I must say that the first disc is filled with a bunch of awesome storytelling, and it seems like it won't quit anytime soon. The children partymembers (I won't say who they are) are annoying, but the main cast is well written and have actual emotions, something you don't see often in games. Music has been excellent so far, and does a good job of sounding fairly different. Personally, this game would be perfect on the PS3. Hell, this is one of the few games that would benefit from blu-ray (Granted, I bet anything they could have cut it down to 1 or 2 discs if they didn't have so many languages on it). Quick question though, where do I go to get weapons? I have the same equipment I started with during the beginning. Did I just miss it, or is it very rare?
You rarely get new weapons except towards later on in the game. Sometimes shops in different cities will have new weapons. In fact, sometimes, there will be hidden shops that have really nice weapons. But early on they're just trying to force you to strategically use the rings.
I see, its just weird that the game relies more on the ring system (Which is pretty pointless right now on disc 2).
Well, the ring system comes in in a big way towards the end. Especially in the "extra" fights. But for the most part the core game just tries to focus on the rings. It does make fights easier, and honestly, IS better than buying all new gear EVERY. TIME. you walk into a new city.
