The consensus amongst most fans is the Euro/Japanese soundtrack for CD is Vastly superior if you haven't heard it you wouldn't know there are snippits of the Japanese soundtrack though in the US version I think in the past levels.

Game gear and Master system Sonics are worthy Sonic 1 on the master system is pretty good for a demake.

Sonic Drift 1 and 2 is everything Sonic R isn't

Also when you pass a time post. Hold up and jump. The super peel out move is pretty much instant teleportation.

THAT I did not know. But it makes sense given the level layout later on in the game

SA2 was the last good Sonic game, what came after it was a wave of shit 10x larger than what we got between S&K and the first Adventure.

As I said before the problem with current Sonic games is that is no longer a AAA franchise, it went down to the level of games like Spyro, thats why it gets no respect anymore

About classic Sonic, yeah SonicCD is a bit overrated, but thats because the whole exploration to change the past thing doesnt works that well in 2D

Ironically that game would kick major ass in the SA engine which was better for exploration than for speed, dont know why they didnt revive the concept instead of trying to fix that fucking camera

S3&K was EPIC, it was so fucking long it was endless, with 10 solid hours on a speedrun this game is almost impossible to play on a single row.

Sonic 2 however is still the best of the series.

I played them so much as a kid. Sonic 1 is pretty good, Sonic 2 is one of the worst Sonic games ever. However, Triple Trouble is incredibly good and still holds up today.

I always preferred "Sonic Boom" from the US version though...

I actually didn't hate sonic and the secret rings or sonic and the black knight, but then neither did I hate sonic R so ya know.
I used to love sonic 2 on the master system (partly because it was the first game I properly owned) that first boss was a bit of a bitch with the slightly dodgy controller I had though.

I believe the dwindling quality of sonic titles started around the time of sonic heroes.

I go beyond that, Sonic for SMS/GG is as good as the original MD game, I just wonder why they didn't go for a 4mb version instead of 2mb. It could be visually better.

Some of the 8 bit sonics are too slow Sonic Drift is the only one that conveys any sense of speed.

Wait, you think 8-bit Sonic 2 is good? The level design in that makes any Dimps game look like 16-bit Sonic 2.

I think 8 bit Sonic 2 is ass.

The rest of the Game Gear sonics however are half way decent.
