So I watched the new Indiana Jones movie

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... and I loved it.

Anyone else see it?

 

thank God it's good. I saw a poster for it in Toys R Us last week. It comes to japan in June. This will be my first trip to the cinema this year! Really looking forward to it. In fact so much that last weekend I sat and watched the first 3 movies on DVD.

Loved it. Up there with the classics! It far exceeded my expectations and I m really happy they kept 3d to a minimum.

 

I'll probably see it today. When I do I'll let you know if I thought it was good or not.

 

I saw it yesterday (the day it opened). I liked it

 

Saw it yesterday too. I didn't hype it up to unrealistic expectations so when i saw it i actually liked it a lot. It's no worse than any of the other indy films.

The problem nowdays is everything is hyped to stupid levels so by the time it comes out it never lives upto peoples impossible expectations.

Must admit it took a while to adjust to how old harrison ford looks nowdays hehe to be fair he still pulls off been indy really well.

 

Even when I'm hearing a lot of negative comments from my friends, I'm going to see it, becos its the first Indy movie in 19 years...

 

Pros:
-Most sets

Cons:
-Story/plot (by Lucas...)
-Dialog
-Less violent than Raiders...
-Crystal plotdevice is obviously plastic
-3D aliens
-3D monkeys
-Waterfalls (slapstick for the 6 year olds)
-Set in 1957 so Russians instead of Nazis and they're hardly evil

 

The plot was ok, the dialog was alright too, nothing stellar but hardly a con.

3D aliens and monkeys AND gophers are cons, I agree.

Waterfalls? Flight of the amazon queen, right there in the Pros!

Russians aren't evil but the film does have to rely on a historical background - it couldnt ignore the cold war.

 

Well I just came back from seeing it. It was good till it got to the end. The very end was good, but the beginning of the ending seemed a bit far fetched (you'd have to see the movie to understand what I'm talking about unless you don't mind me spoiling the ending).

I say it's worth seeing, but it ain't as good as the originals.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you there. Too many people get caught up in hype so easily. I've never been one to get hyped up about anything, and for the most part I'm rarely ever disappointed by new movies, music, games, etc that I've looked forward too.

That being said, I thought the movie was really fun. I don't care if people are saying it's "over the top" or "far fetched"... last time I checked the point of watching a movie was to escape reality. Besides, when was the last time any of you (who are complaining) watched the original movies? Those were pretty damn far fetched too, but that's what I think made them so good. So I'm willing to say that the new Indiana Jones movie has all the charm and fun the the originals have, Harrison Ford is just a bit older :lol:

 

i didnt really like the general story direction but the lines where at least funny enough to enjoy the movie

what i didnt like was at the beginning there where some really ugly lighting errors like sun from the back but people get bright faces in front totally ruined the scenes for me

and they did use too much cgi more practical would have been better those scenes at the cliff with the 2 cars just screamed fake

 

1st half or so... loved it.

2nd half or last 3rd or so... meh

Overall, I enjoyed it though.

 

gonna watch this one too cant wait to see if it lives up to my expectations
